I have studied bass privately throughout middle and high school and now continue to do so as an undergraduate at the Frost School of Music. Throughout high school I was not only playing professionally, but also giving bass lessons to beginning and intermediate level players.
All lessons are incredibly flexible and are tailored to each individual student's needs, abilities, and goals as much as possible. I do my best to adjust each lesson to the student’s personal growing rate and try to consistently evaluate and adjust to what learning styles work best.
I teach beginner adults and children and can structure lessons to fit whatever style and interest a student has in music, performance and composition practices. Classical music theory and methodology are the foundation for my teaching, but I am able to pull in from other sources as necessary.

As a qualified classroom teacher and experienced bass tutor, I am able to blend tips on performance and practical teaching with theory. I have 7 years experience in tutoring bass as well as degrees in Jazz Performance and a formal teaching qualification. I can teach both beginners and those more experienced players wanting to improve further.
My lessons are mainly based on the student trying not to create a too rigid approach to the instrument but more free according to the needs. I will use both traditional and innovative methods trying to always give new impetus to the student's musical development.
I focus on the learning needs of my students during lessons. I believe music should be internalised before it can be expressed. This way, students will be taught to play from the heart, which makes lessons less clinical and more enjoyable.
The basics of MUSik rhythmics, theory of grades, sense of harmony, musical background knowledge are playfully integrated into the lessons. The lesson will be individually tailored to the student. The bowing technique of the great double bass violin Ludwig Streicher will be part of the practice sessions.
