I teach the same way I was taught- focus on the techniques that matter and listen to the student- teach them what they want to learn and now what I want them to learn! No matter what level of drumming you're at, learning the very basics of counting and keeping time, hand and eye cooidernation are essential.
I break the complicated down into the manageable. Each student is different and so each approach to lessons is different, but my main objective is to get you playing the instrument as quickly as possible and give you the tools to be able to breakdown and learn what you enjoy listening to.
Focus on one or two drumming styles. While there is no harm in learning as many drumming styles as you can, focusing on a few will help you master them quickly. Once you master a style, you can move on to marketing your skillset as well as learning additional styles.
