I believe music should be fun and educational. I joke around to keep the mood light when the music gets difficult. Music is my passion and I enjoy having the privilege to share my years of knowledge in theory and performance with others.
My teaching methodology is very individualized. For beginners, I recommend longer lessons times to learn how to read music, some basic music theory, and then delving into there desired instrument. For more advanced students, I encourage them to search for personally chosen pieces which both inspire ad stretch the individual's abilities.
My teaching method includes individual time on instruments of the students' choice, sight reading duets with me on the same instrument, learning all clefs needed for their instrument(s), and and complete understanding not only of how to play, but also the history & theory behind their instruments.
I start by analyzing the student to see where they are at in their musical journey. I also account for their personal interests and form a curriculum out of their desires as well. I always include music theory alongside the curriculum and, at the appropriate time, ear training as well.
My teaching methods are hands-on approach with visual and audio supplements. I can give lessons to people who range from beginners to advanced. I can teach anyone who is willing to learn. I will work with the student to find what is best for them.
How i teach is my first demonstrating a little what i can do , and then allowing the new student to play what ever they can or wish to perform giving me a feel for there current level of experience and there bad and good habits as a musician then i form my warm up with them around there strengths and weaknesses allowing us to work on there problem areas and also having fun and growing there...

I have a B.S. degree in Music Education. My method is more to kinesthetic. I first see what individuals know and build from there. I see what they know, model or show and allow students to show me.
my teaching philosophy is: present my students with the best example, help them grow to be their own musician, and promote life long music passion. I have given beginner to advanced lessons on low brass instruments. I like to give my student the freedom to select the music they want to work on and learn in their lessons.
I have experienceTeaching all the ages and the ability levels. I focus on a fundamentals-based approach while still keeping lessons fun and energetic. I believe in tailoring my teaching style and lessons to each person in order for each student to benefit greatly.
I am a Jazz trombonist, and I also have many years of classical education and experience. I can help you with fundamentals, rhythm, sound, sight reading, improvising, audition preparation, or whatever your personal goal is. I am a very patient and positive teacher, and I thoroughly enjoy passing some of my knowledge and practice techniques forward to my students.
I base my classes on the individual's or groups' way of learning that suits their needs and the pace also depends on overall skill and practice. I like to guide my students to not only improve on instrumentation, but also work ethic and confidence.
I have been a freelance musician in the Chicago area since I finished my undergraduate studies at Indiana University-Bloomington in 2016. I give lessons to all age ranges, including children ages 6-18, adults, and senior citizens. I teach primarily out of an interest in the uniqueness of each person I work with, and what I learn about each student guides the approach I use with them.
The first lesson will be used to find what material will work best to teach you in the fastest and best way possible. Anywhere from beginner exercises to advanced repertoire. Most lessons will be focused on refining a certain skill with a high level of detail and technical knowledge, like articulation or tone production.
I am in my third year of marching and concert band. I can help teach beginning bass clef students and I can easily help in learning fingerings on baritone/euphonium. I can also help with embouchure for brass instruments. My teaching style is pretty simple to understand and i try to put things in the best words possible so you can understand what to do.
An advanced euphonium player, I am known to be rather whimsical, creative, and perceptive. "I like to come at things from different angles, even those no one else would think to come at them from. So if one thing doesn't work, do the complete opposite! For you, it may be the better way of doing something." Is what say quite a bit. With younger children, I like to do things different.
I look to provide energetic and fun lessons to beginner to intermediate students looking to improve in their area. My lesson structure will include playing, but will also include talking about practical practice methods and application of mindset to every day life, both with music and without.
I like to find out what the student likes and wants in their musical experience.
I like to approach the lesson by first evaluating what you do and don't know, and then working on a foundation from there. I treat my students professionally but not with a cold shoulder. I listen and play all types of music, and do not exclude anyone based on skill or music tastes.

My teaching method is dependant upon what my student is seeking in learning music. For example, do you have academic goals, industry ready goals or are your goals to fuflfill a long term dream to speak the musical language. I do an assessment of very student that comes to me, to check their musical knowledge. For beginner students, this includes a quick ear training test and rhythm test.
