I believe music should be fun and educational. I joke around to keep the mood light when the music gets difficult. Music is my passion and I enjoy having the privilege to share my years of knowledge in theory and performance with others.
I have been teaching for over 25 years. I have taught in schools and privately. I teach technique and rudiments for solid playing while also teaching theory and sight reading.
My teaching method includes individual time on instruments of the students' choice, sight reading duets with me on the same instrument, learning all clefs needed for their instrument(s), and and complete understanding not only of how to play, but also the history & theory behind their instruments.
I tailor my lessons to each student and work to problem solve each student's individual issues with a personalized solution. I ask questions and have students think critically about what helps them get better and what hinders their progress. Having students verbally express what they experience in lessons helps them retain the information and apply it better.
I have experience as a pianist tutor to beginner pianists. Using this background, I am able to cater to any needs based on skill level.
The first lesson will be used to find what material will work best to teach you in the fastest and best way possible. Anywhere from beginner exercises to advanced repertoire. Most lessons will be focused on refining a certain skill with a high level of detail and technical knowledge, like articulation or tone production.
My teaching method is self discovery for the love of the instrument. The best way to teach is to allow the students to understand your view towards your skill.

I have gained experience in teaching students of all ages and levels during the last few years and I am very familiar with the process of taking students through ABRSM examinations in trumpet and theory. Moreover stage anxiety is a topic that I give a lot of emphases because music becomes real only when it is played in front of an audience.
It depends on when we talk about beginners I do with the student always small exercises of different methods such as David Burges, Peter Dam, Lucien Thevet, Farkas, Clark, Froydis and also Sanders. My teaching method is is variable depending on the student. With brass playing, generally speaking there is no right or wrong way as every person is physically different. Having said that I feel it is important to establish a technique which is both effective and comfortable, and then will progress from there.
I am experienced in teaching individual, small group, and large group lessons on every brass instrument, but specialise in french horn up to post grade 8 level. I like to keep my lessons engaging, interactie, fast moving and most importantly... tailored to the individual student.
