My teaching method is to begin by focusing on music theory and the basics of a guitar’s structure and then move into chords and various progressions.
My teaching method involves a blend of blues, rock, metal, funk, fingerstyle, ear training and a visual approach to scales, chords and theory that students can easily understand and implement.
B.A. in Music Education with a Double major in Double Bass and Classical Guitar from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado. I played in the University Orchestra as well as the Greeley Philharmonic under the direction of Dr. Howard Skinner.
I generally like to start by finding out what motivates the student, this gives a better idea on the approach of lesson structure. No two students are alike, and for this reason I try to fit lessons to the individual, this gives a better experience and faster progress for the student.
I like to teach students one-on-one as I believe that is the easiest way for students to learn in-depth and challenging music techniques. Over the past year I have developed an easy to understand guitar curriculum that looks at the different keys that pair well with the guitar.
