Hello fellow students! I feel we are all always learning, including teachers. My name is Randee and I love to teach. I currently work with Title 1 students tutoring in Reading and Math (ages Kindergarten-5th grade). I graduated from Eckerd College. I would say my philosophy on teaching is that every student learns differently.
My teaching method is hands-on, engaging, and as real-world applicable as possible. Lessons are age-appropriate, vary based on the student, and are crafted for their specific learning style. I believe learning should be fun and should bring out the creativity in every learner.
I tutor all ages in developing strong reading, writing and literacy skills. I use direct instruction and drill and practice methods depending upon the students strengths and weaknesses. For K through 12 students, I center the instruction around their school projects and homework.
I am a Cornell University graduate who specializes in helping students with ACT and SAT Prep as well as college admissions essays and resumes. I have previously worked as a tutor for ACT/SAT prep and as a resume builder for both students and professionals. I am extremely compassionate and work with students to reach their highest potential in any way I can.
I tutor elementary, middle, and high school students I can teach online or sit down with the student, I try to teach the same way whether I'm online or in person with the student. I will walk them through the process of evaluating a question, and deciding on how to answer it. I will give them the knowledge they need to succeed as well.
Each lesson starts with small talk and a short review from the previous lesson. Any homework is also checked, reviewed and finishes with a few Q&As. Then the lesson begins. Firstly, I will ask questions about the subject to see how much you already know about the area. This is important as you do not want to learn something you already know! Then we will begin.
My teaching method is to individualize lessons based on each learner's strengths and struggles. As a lifelong learner my goal is to help students recognize the importance of reading, writing, and literature as they can help anyone succeed in other subject areas.
I believe each child has his/her own styles of learning and work best at their own individual pace. I love working one on one and watch young minds grow and strengthen not just in academics but in self confidence that will help them aspire towards greater things in the future.
Barbara has over twenty years of education, obtaining an Education Specialist Degree (also known as A.B.D.) in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University, including a Master's Degree in Curriculum/Instruction with an emphasis in reading from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of North Florida.
I have a Master's Degree in Reading. The first step is to diagnose the area of concern through a series of tests to identify the specific problem that the student is having.
I can give lessons to high school age and younger. Whether it's going over the structure your essay should match, or helping with grammar, I can do anything! Just let me know what you need help with and I will build my lesson around you.
My lessons are individualized and tailored to meet the needs of your child's, based off data collected from Diagnostic assessments. My mission is to put the "fun" back in learning, where students are motivated and excited to learn. At the same time, I instill morals and hold all students accountable for their own learning and academic success.
I think learning should be fun as well as informative. Education changes lives. The ability to comprehend and to see things from different perspectives enhances a person's understanding of the world around him or her and colors their existence. I try to encourage students to use their imaginations and to apply what they learn to that to which life exposes them.
Experienced Private Tutor: * M.A. Teaching English as Second Language * Highly-Qualified Teaching Certificate * 20+ yrs.
My teaching is child center-based I look at the needs of each individual child and try and cater to their specific requirements rather than having a whole class approach.
I am flexible with what and whom I teach. My lessons are colorful, bright, creative and sure to keep students engaged and excited to learn. I will work with each students particular learning style, and focus on their short term and long term goals.
I assess the child, identify his/her needs and plan my instruction accordingly. My lessons are data based according to the needs of each child I tutor. I am continually evaluating and assessing the needs of the child. I enjoy watching a child progress into a confident reader.
My teaching methodologies change based on the needs of my students, however the most effective methods are based in Constructivist approaches (learning through experience and doing). Because of that, my lessons typically involve a short mini-lesson based on what you need and then guided practice until you're able to do it independently.
As an instructor, my primary motivation for teaching is to help students learn the material in a meaningful and active way. I believe that shaping my students into active learners and participators in the course allows students to engage in an experiential way with the material, and I have found this to enhance both their individual initiative and enthusiasm for learning.
I love incorporating real world, current events to my lessons, as well as artful and creative medium, like paintings, hip-hop and provocative journalism. My lessons often as students to probe the work at hand, as well as digging a little deeper into who they are and how their ideas came to be.
I love to base my classes on individual needs and use many programs to teach from not just one methodology. I like to know interests of my students so I can tailor the lesson to them and make sure they are excited and want to be in the sessions. I use many different ways to teach including music, comprehension and phonics and exercises as well as games.
My teaching method is based on the trio of praise, question, encourage. Have you heard a young person tell his or her friend a story? Often, the telling is well-rounded and full of detail and emotion, the same qualities that define good writing and acute reading.
I am a very experienced teacher who has devoted my career to helping students of all ages learn to read, write, and speak the English language as well as prepare for standardized testing. Encouragement and Understanding. I can work with high school and college age students and non-traditional students as well. I like to set up a routine for each class in order to build consistency.
I am a doctoral candidate of education with a focus in reading education. I am available for all students requiring academic assistance with reading and other literacy related activities. I give lessons in a flexible manner, utilizing various on/offline resources and activities to help all learners succeed in academic endeavors.
I base my teaching on what the student needs to accomplish and their skill level.
My philosophy of teaching is based on a belief that learning needs to be student centered and that students need to be equal partners in the learning process. My role involves using my expertise to put the necessary resources in the hands of the students or more likely to be sure that my students are well equipped to find and evaluate the resources they need to answer their questions.
My teaching method is very engaged and fun. I teach 11th grade students with a combination of group work, class discussions, and crafty projects to keep their creative wheels turning. My students love coming to class each day because they always leave having discovered something new on their only, with only a guiding question from me.
Former High School English Teacher/Guidance Counselor will be happy to tutor your child in English. I have a BA in High School Education and a MS in School Guidance. I also may be interested in assisting adults with English Literacy.
My teaching method is patience and dedication. Every child is unique and different, not all children learn the same, so it takes hard work to figure out the best strategies to help each child succeed.
