Coaching teams, working with individuals, involving students, patient, nurturing, reasonable expectations, explaining "big picture", i.e. the why we do the things we do and where each person fits in the overall corporation; calm and collected; every conversation is an opportunity for coaching and learning.
I firmly believe that every student has their own pace in learning and understanding things. With subject like human resources and business, I make sure that I include a lot of examples to support the theories. I make sure that I include fun activities that also contribute to learning , in my teaching methodology.
I benchmark my students' ability and needs then customize the course to give them practical advantages and practice for immediate use in the classroom and workplace. We use cooperative learning where the students have a choice of the writing topics. I stretch students to at least one grade level above their class.
I prefer a student based teaching method. At the beginning of each course, I prefer to get to know the student, their academic goals, as well as their academic likes, dislikes, strengths, and weaknesses in order to proved the best, personalized attention possible. This way, each class or course is tailored to that student's specific needs and goals.
I approach the lessons by focusing on what the student wants to learn about. Students have distinct wants and needs and the benefit of the class can be diminished if the lessons are not oriented to the students individuality.
Teaching Philosophy I believe that to be most effective as an instructor, one must create an environment that is interactive and collaborative that promotes problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This type of environment accommodates a variety of learning styles and encourages students to present their opinions while respecting the opinions of others.
My teaching methodology is to learn about the student first and then give a more real world approach to theories. I find giving real world experiences makes things easier to learn. I am a patient person who understands the difficulty of learning complex topics.
