I cross subjects to include cognitive strength for all subjects using any subject. I connect new information to previous knowledge by associating the introduced skill with content relevant to the student. My method is interactive requiring student participation (not lectures). These three things help the information stay with each student.
I've always had a love for Mathematics. Growing up I always excelled in my Mathematical studies, always a step or two ahead of my age group. It continues in college where I am currently studying Applied Mathematics at Arizona State University.
Hello, my name is Jarren Hall and I am a highly effective math tutor who has a Bachelor's Degree of Science in the subject and has had plenty of experience with teaching and tutoring students at the junior high, high school, and college level.
I am a visual and hands on teacher. I love getting my hands dirty with the learning. I have Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dysgraphia. I am very familiar with strategies to help students with these characteristics. I love working with kids. They bring so much joy to my life.
After 10 years of experience, I found the perfect way and most beneficent approach to help the student understand. I create my own questions and material and present them in a way that the student wouldn't forget it the next day.
I started tutoring privately throughout high school helping students raise D letter grades to A letter grades. This continued professionally at Mathnasium and at ASU. I follow a simple pattern that is proven to help remember mathematics process which in turn enables the student to use their skills to succeed in class. The best part is that this isn't a way of learning to pass a test.
I believe in a solid foundation, so we begin at the beginning and work our way up, filling in any gaps along the way. I have found this to be the most effective way, in fact I often don't need to teach at the students grade level, because once we fill in the missing basics the students say "so that's what they were talking about"! I use audio, visual and kinetic teaching methods as needed.
To teach a topic, I teach myself the topic by exploring multiple ways of understanding and doing problems. Then when the student I teach the fundamentals of the topic, followed by practice problem over practice problems over practice problems. For each practice problems, the goal is to do them in more than one way to reiterate the fundamentals.
I make a point of using real world examples, history, and narrative to facilitate understanding of a topic and engage with all of you. Chemistry and Biology connect with many facets of life, and the stories behind how many discoveries were made can really help in understanding and forming long term connections in the mind.
My teaching methodology for mathematics is to use visuals, make real world connections and implement formative assessments. Higher level math is a difficult subject for most students. I strive to teach in the simplest terms possible and continuously check for understanding so that I can alter my instruction when necessary to ensure my students are successful.
I try to match the learning experience with the students needs and desires, blending my work experiences and life stories to add interest. I encourage the students to ask questions and research topics of interest. I may act as a navigator with the student in the pilot seat.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a Masters in Elementary Education. I consider myself to be a patient, dependable and effective tutor. I mainly focus on elementary mathematics. My teaching methodology includes charades, whiteboards and manipulatives. Mathematics should make sense.
My teaching / tutoring methods meet the standards of regionally accredited university's curriculums. I tutor university students as well as high school students preparing for placement exams and or general college preparation. I am thorough and diligent in the manners of which I tutor.
My goal with teaching is to have my students fall in love with their education. Math can be hard and frustrating for students, but with an open environment we can begin to change their thinking and create a love for learning.
I would like to use lecture method, Discussion method and use mobile applications to improve students motivation towards education.
I am a junior at GCU currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects, and i enjoy helping students from Highschool to College level math. I try to approach tutoring from a perspective of not telling the student what to do, but reviewing and going over the subject with the student so that truly understand what they are learning.
I use several engaging strategies , such as graphic organizers ,that chunk complex content into components a struggling student can understand. I differentiate instruction based on students needs. I also use formative assessments to continuously monitor /check for understanding.
My teaching method is to help student understand their lesson. I also find easier ways to let student understand the lesson.
My teaching methodology is very wide, is base on the Grade level and background knowledge but most of all my teaching methodology will help you understand the WHY of each topic that in most cases is not taught in the classroom...
In a nutshell, I teach the way YOU learn. I don't think I teach any two students the same way. As I get to know my students, I assess each one's learning style and what will work for him or her. I then focus on developing their strengths and helping them overcome their weaknesses. In some tutoring sessions I talk non-stop explaining concepts and illustrating ideas.
I am a Math Teacher and give lessons to Middle and High School Students. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and Master in Education from ASU (Arizona State University). I have an extensive teaching experience of 13 years to College, High School and Middle School students.
I have a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, degree conferred on May 2017. Teaching Philosophy Preparing tomorrow’s professionals and young minds requires the nurturing and development of students who are self-governing, motivated and determined learners.
My teaching method is tutee-centric. I do not teach math or reading, but tutor the student to improve his/her math or reading skills. From the outset I work to build and foster a relationship of trust that creates an environment conducive to acceptance of mistakes and to taking personal responsibility for performance.
My name is Ray and I am offering tutoring for all levels of ALGEBRA, I have a MS in Nuclear Physics. I enjoy tutoring mathematics and have a unique way of presenting things in a simple way. I like to make sure the student understand what they are doing and not just memorize what they did.
I am currently a college student working for my Bachelors in Biology with an emphasis in Pre-Med. I like to teach student by firstly understanding what they are struggling with and why they struggling with it. From there I make a customized plan on how I will help the student learn better.
My teaching methodology starts from setting an overall goal which is all students achieve at least 80% of Mastery. Daily lesson plans are set to achieve the goal. Various strategies are organized to solve mathematical problems in order to achieve the objectives. Students are given examples for each mathematical concept and undertake both class and homework activities.
I am a high school senior tutoring K-12 math, chemistry, and physics online. Above all, I make sure to teach the student the underlying fundamentals of their subject to make learning further concepts easy and intuitive. I believe knowing why is just as important as knowing how.
I believe in a growth mindset when it comes to math education. As humans we are all hard-wired with the ability to solve problems, to do mathematics! Believing that we can understand mathematics and use it to help us solve problems is the first step toward true learning.
I view my learners as members of a learning team that includes me, whose function is to guide, facilitate, and support learning, much the same as a coxswain provides the direction and coordination that enables a crew to advance the shell in a boat race.
my teaching method is to make sure a student is comfortable in what they are learning. By the end of a session I want to make sure a student fully understands their subject and they leave each session with confidence.
