When tutoring, I focus on areas of the study which my students struggle with. By understanding weaknesses, the student has the greatest opportunity to succeed in their studies.
Busco deixar o aluno confortável, para que possa perguntar à vontade. Ajudo o aluno a resolver listas e lições de casa, para que ele consiga resolver sozinho mais tarde. Sou muito claro quando ensino algum aluno, pois já estive na mesma posição.
Over the years of teaching I have fine tuned the way I approach concepts. I know exactly what examples I want to do and in what order they need to be done. I believe in starting off with a simple example and working from there so that by the end you are prepared for the more difficult problems.
First off I use a very patient teaching method. Not every student will understand after the first try. There is a lot of practice involved, but by the end of the lesson the student will be better at math in some way. No problem will go unsolved.
Students who have retaken a course under my instruction after failing the first time under another professor would say that they understood concepts better because of my analogies and metaphors, my abundant and carefully selected examples and exercises, my system of doing examples from easy to difficult, and the way I discuss concepts from concrete to abstract, from particular to general.
My methods are very straightforward as I base everything on how useful or practical it can or will be in everyday life or in the student's future. In Math, it always helps a student to really understand something when they know what the point to all those numbers and equations really is before they dive into a subject.
My focus in tutoring is always to help my students build their skills and confidence, step-by-step. I will tailor your lessons to your needs and your unique way of seeing the world. Above all, I approach every lesson with awareness, patience and respect.
Lesson Plan First, I believe that learning should be FUN! We remember the things that we enjoy! I like to always have a clear understanding of the needs of the learner. I will talk to students about the areas of frustration, and also the parents (when possible for younger learners) to get as much information as possible.
Learning technical subjects requires problem solving. Concepts are be explained clearly if there is a need. Otherwise, practice is the focus. Active learning is best in any subject. Teaching strategy in test taking is beneficial to many students. I want to help students learn problematic material. Beating fear of success is possible through sustained small successes.
My teaching methodology varies from person to person but always starts with first idenitifying eactly what you are having the most trouble understanding. This is extremely important; because, each and every person has their own thought process and background. I will then tailor explanations and examples to your specific needs.
My methodology is building confidence in my students, we all have the ability to think analytically and solve problems but may students think that they aren't a "math person" so they just can't be good at it. I had math tutor through high school and went to kimono as a child because I am not naturally a "math person" I became one.
I approach each topic by figuring out how the student learns best. What's most important for a tutor and teacher is understanding not all students learn the same way. By understanding how my students learn, I relate their class work and materials to real-world examples that best suit their learning needs.
Most people would be very surprised by my more relaxed structure of teaching. I generally ask students to show up to a lesson with specific homework assignments, past tests, or a review sheet for a future test, and from there I will gauge how strong they are on every topic.
I'm an engineering major looking to tutor children and teenagers in need of help with SAT, ACT, entrance exam, and placement exam preparation or with everyday homework, assignments, and tests. I am an effective tutor by providing students with academic instruction in a safe and fun environment. I primarily tutor in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, physics, and English.
I have tutored students as young as 5 and students taking graduate level exams (GRE, California Teaching Credential, etc.). I am excellent at tutoring in ALL academic areas, English Language Arts, Writing, Math, History, Science, etc. My first steps are to get to know the student, their likes, dislikes and interview parents or (for adult learners) discuss challenges they may face.
I am a firm believer that teaching requires patience. My worst fear is someone feeling too uncomfortable to ask me a question they have. I make it a priority to make students feel safe and comfortable during our sessions, and treat them like a best friend versus just a student.
I have a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and am a current PhD student at MIT and Harvard Medical School studying Medical Engineering. I have several years experiences tutoring in calculus, physics, and chemistry. I like to have students work on practice problems to prepare for homework and tests.
One teaching method that I think is very effective is showing a problem in a different way and allowing the student to think through it themselves so that they can begin to understand more fully the concepts behind it. I don't like telling students what to do, rather I want them to struggle a little bit while I guide them through the various concepts in math and science.
I am a visual and working student, where I find visually watching how to solve a problem and personally solving multiple problems to be the smartest way to learn and study the different types of math. As for spanish it is constantly hearing and trying speaking to be the best way to learn the language.
I spend the first session getting to know my students in order to grasp what they're struggling in, what they hope to achieve academically, and what resources they need to do it. I then gather worksheets and cultivate a lesson plan that is individually crafted for them. Whether it be test prep, school help, or problem-solving tips, I have resources on hand from my grassroots tutoring program.
I am friendly, patient, and easy-going. I take sessions at a relaxed and comfortable pace so students don't feel nervous and pressured. I joke around a little bit and get to know students and build a bit of a relationship before just jumping in and getting more serious about the subject material. But there's plenty of time to get things done.
My teaching method is very interactive! I want to teach my students how to think and reason for themselves to build critical thinking skills that will allow them to solve any problem. Rather than giving answers, I want to provoke deep thought and help student walk through concepts and really understand them.
I am available to all who need help in math, physics, or chemistry. I am able to give tutoring to those who have a mental disability. My main method as a tutor is to first see what they know about the topic they are on. From there, I guide them on what the next step in solving the problem is and why it should be that way.
My teaching method is based on understanding the material rather than just getting the answer right. Understanding often comes from repetition. I believe have the student teach the tutor, and explaining what they know in their own words. When you can teach the topic, that's when you understand it.
I do not teach according to a set standard. If given a problem or equation, I think of many possible ways to get to the answer. I myself think like this and would teach my students an efficient way to think and get to an answer and not just what is taught in class.
My teaching method is I like to provide conceptions linked to the problems. I love to ask students to think about the problems first then let them solve it. If they struggle, I will suggest they look at the concepts and at the end, I would like to provide them my best answer and I compare it to student's solution also I suggest to discuss the problem father.
I strongly believe in the inquiry-based method of teaching, which is that I encourage students in a way in which they begin to ask themselves relevant questions that encourage thinking and learning. When a teacher asks many (guiding) questions, she or he sets the tone for students.
My teaching method is usually going over topics the student doesn't know. I base what I teach off of what the student is struggling with. I usually take it step by step and go over the topic using several examples until the student understands the process.
I have a passion for math and love to pass it on to other people! I believe people learn best when they understand the reasoning behind what they are learning. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Economics (one major) from University of California, Santa Barbara and a valid teaching credential for Secondary Mathematics.
I want each and every student to understand the subject and what it entails, not just how to do a specific problems. I attempt to create an understanding in the student that takes them much further than my tutoring sessions. I will first identify your deficiencies in the given subject, and then fix those problems along with proving a solid foundation to the subject.
