*** Lesson Details *** Most students want to play the Guitar to play their favorite songs and I'm the same way. Music is something we carry with us in our hearts and minds. Students will learn what they wish to learn and work at a pace that is comfortable to them.
This 35-year veteran teacher, performer and recording artist can get you started as a beginner, or bring you to the next level as an intermediate or advanced singer... I have a Masters Degree, and have been performing and teaching for over 35 years. While performing is a delightful experience, I feel equally as enthused when teaching others and helping them grow in their own artistry.
We accept students of all ages and levels. The lessons take place at my studio in Colorado Springs, or if you are not local then I do provide lessons on Skype as well. We do group lessons for younger children (3-5 years old) to learn the basics of music. We also offer group lessons for grade school age children as well.
My teaching method is focused on all the instruments since I apply the musical theory from the harmony and ear training on the instrument. The classes are based on the interests that the student wants to study and from that the curriculum is built.
I love helping students to learn how to play piano and enjoy it. I developed my own methods of teaching to positively enchance the student strength, dexterity memorization and technique. I am teaching different methods including Suzuki, Faber, Alfred’s, Bastion. I am teaching different ages and levels.
I have taught theory for years. BUT many think it is just a bunch of rules. THERE'S MORE. Through CONVERSATION, we will explore these concepts. We'll begin at your current understanding then journey together.
I truly love sharing the gift of music with my students! As a professional musician for over 20 years, I can help beginners all the way up to advanced students studying saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, music theory, composition, arranging and improvisation. My focus is always to help my students build their skills and confidence, step-by-step.
My goal is to be able to give what I have received from my teachers: love for music. Without them I would never have decided to dedicate my life to music.
Experienced Harpist and music educator with three degrees in music education and over 40 years of teaching experience, providing private and small group lessons for students studying Harp, Flute or music theory. Multiple performance opportunities in an ensemble, and as a soloist.
I have also studied psychology which has helped to broaden not only my understanding of students but also to be eclectic. I am proud to have a Russian school from my idol, Slava Rostropovich, but I am aware of other approaches depending on the goals and needs of each student.
Based on my education, training, and experience I have developed an approach that can be summarized in four rules. 1. The notes and the music are not the same thing. 2. Technique and interpretation are the same thing. 3. Practicing is practical and 100% goal oriented. 4. Hard work is never in vain. This approach is flexible and works with all ages and levels.
I like to teach always thinking in my students and their needs. First I have to be sure that they have a solid musical foundation of and possess the knowledge needed to read notes or do other musical things. If that doesn't exist, then don't worry! Don't panic! I'll teach you! I'm not so structured and strict, because I think learning process into new things shouldn't be so frustrating.
My characteristics as a guitar tutor is a professional experience sharer with passion, patience, and organized teaching structure. In individual class, I will firstly design personalized course based on the students' levels and goals. In group class, I will use group dynamics to promote the learning effects based also on the students' levels and goals.
I am a music graduate with a diploma in interdisciplinary studies, and I teach at all levels of music theory, from beginner to advanced. My teaching method is simple; I approach each topic at its most basic level. In that way, it will be much easier for the student to grasp each and every topic.
MUSIC TUTORING: My main goal with teaching music is to provide a basic understanding of music theory to beginner musicians. Topics such as understanding written music, basic harmony and musicology, and incorporating that knowledge with music that people enjoy listening to today. My teaching style is quite relaxed, but still structured and focused.
I enjoy teaching at all levels. Inspiring a thirst for knowledge in children is a passion of mine, as well as encouraging adult learners to be the musician they have always wanted to be. When teaching I believe you should teach the whole student, not just the voice. I like to install an appreciation, love, and full knowledge of music - in terms of the craft and the student's relationship to it.
I teach how your voice works, what moves, hot to move it, how to do it in a healthy way and how to add color to your expression. It doesn't matter if you a singer, actor or any other kind of voice user.
My teaching method is determined by what level the student is and what they want to specifically focus on. I am extremely patient and always like to teach with passion. Music is beautiful and if I can help anyone understand it at a deeper level, it is my pleasure.
My method is to study each student's learning strengths and weaknesses. There is not one method that works for every person. I adjust the method to match the student. I have written music books and workbooks for teaching different methods and seen much success over the years across the United States and in some other countries as well.
I believe in a holistic learning environment that is based on the interests and goals of the individual. Having worked with full classes, small groups, and over 20 indivual students, I view teaching as a collaborative exercise, working with the individuals to create a unique an indidual plan that will create fantastic results.
My methodology is: work smarter, not harder. Technique is of the upmost importance to achieve musical goals without damage to the musician. I give lessons up to college level voice (especially audition cuts and musical theatre singing) and up to intermediate guitar/ukulele/piano. I will expect students to warm up before a lesson as well as with me at the beginning of each session.
My method first is knowing all the abilities the person have to guide him/her to the right path. Knowing the level of the student is essential, that way I can teach the things that are missing. I'm a very patient guy and I will work until you learn what you want.
