My methods are very straightforward as I base everything on how useful or practical it can or will be in everyday life or in the student's future. In Math, it always helps a student to really understand something when they know what the point to all those numbers and equations really is before they dive into a subject.
Lesson Plan First, I believe that learning should be FUN! We remember the things that we enjoy! I like to always have a clear understanding of the needs of the learner. I will talk to students about the areas of frustration, and also the parents (when possible for younger learners) to get as much information as possible.
My teaching method is one which is very flexible to the individual I am working with. While tutoring I tend to look for the student's areas of strength and weakness and from there help them to bolster the areas they are weak in, while still encouraging them in the areas they excel.
My goal is find a learning style that best suits your needs. I'm open to pictures, discussions, Q&A sessions, problem solving, etc. The one constant of my sessions is that I emphasize foundational knowledge. From my own experiences learning, I know that without a strong foundation students are quickly lost in a more advanced setting.
My teaching method is very interactive! I want to teach my students how to think and reason for themselves to build critical thinking skills that will allow them to solve any problem. Rather than giving answers, I want to provoke deep thought and help student walk through concepts and really understand them.
My goal is not just to help students with specific subject help, but to teach students how to approach their studies in a way that is more effective. I hope to that with each lesson, my students feel more confident in their abilities to not only tackle current hurdles but take on future ones.

I love students who just don't get it. I know that my students will always get catch on and understand, if not today then soon. I explain but I don't lecture and I give students extensive supervised practice where they and get help for mistakes and misconceptions right away. One of my adult basic math students told me I was the most patient teacher she had ever met.
My teaching methods are dependant upon the children I teach!!!!!! It has been my experience that each child requires individual teaaching methods.

I don't believe in one sort of teaching method-- my biggest focus as a teacher or tutor is learning how I can best suit my student. Exploring different studying and teaching methods and listening to/working WITH each student individually is the way to achieve academic success.
My lessons are geared to High School and Middle School students, but I can also help in college introductory courses. As I am beginning tutoring, the structure of my lessons will vary from person to person, gearing my methods to better fit the learning style of the student.

I am a former Biology teacher. I have 8 years of teaching experience. I recently retired to stay at home with my children. I am able to give lessons to elementary through high school age children. I like to use hands on manipulatives to aid in understanding concepts. The more fun a person can make a subject, the easier it is to learn.
In my previous classes, each week a new study strategy was used to see the difference between the learning process for the students. I used the results to test a hypothesis and created a study in order to find ways to enhance learning experiences for the students that were having a difficult time.
It depends on how much help the student will need. Most of the time a student is successful if I can help them complete their homework on a weekly basis and then spend some time on test prep. The student experience sucess typically spends 1-2 hours per session 2 to 3 times a week. Those whose attention spans are smaller need only 1 hour sessions though.
I tutor based on the needs of the individual. I like for my students to fill me in on what they do and don't understand within the subject content during the first lesson or two. My goal is to teach students to become independent learners by encouraging analytical thinking to reinforce a deeper understanding of the material.
