I am interested in teaching aspiring artists of any age or skill level! Through teaching classic drawing and painting techniques, I hope to help aspiring artists to further hone their skills and develop their own personal working style. I love to explore my art by experimenting with different kinds of materials and referencing work from past and current artists I admire.
I have a Master of Arts in Art Education and have been painting and drawing for 40+ years. I can teach any age group, one on one or in a group, at my home, your home or in a public place. I custom design teaching content and methodology to cater to your specific needs and skill level.
My teaching technique is to first meet the student at their level and then find a way of teaching that best fits and motivates them. Art is something that should be enjoyed, and even if it can be stressful sometimes to learn things, there is no better feeling than learning something new and working on mastering it.
My teaching meathod is to slow down and really help the students with the project. If they are struggling with something there is no need to over rush it. With time comes understanding and experience. But if the subject is I'm understood well, then we will not dwell on it for to long.
My lessons are custom tailored to the students needs and past experiences in painting. My lessons are geared for the excited beginner all the way up to a well seasoned painter. My style of art and what excites me about painting are things that influence my lessons. I specialize in realistic landscapes, trees, light and shadow. I focus on getting the foundation of a painting off to a solid start.
Went to Those Island School of Design and received a bachelor's in fine art Attended Medialle Collage and received a bachelor's I'm education Attended College of Notra Dame where I got a masters in special ed Attending Northcentral University where I am currently working on my doctorate. I have worked as a wedding photographer and had an ad I shot for published on a jumbotron in Times Square as well as made to cover of 2 literary journals.
I like to start with the basics, such as the elements and principles of art along with reviewing and testing the materials. From there I like to develop a project with the student, were we can relate the artwork to different artists, art movements and techniques.
I am happy to set goals and priorities, but I am most interested in allowing art to blossom in my students. Art making requires courage and self determination and I like to facilitate that. I have a full range of skills that I can teach and am happy to pass on what I know, but I am also happy to simply provide support. I have a fully equipped spacious studio, but I can also travel.
Each lesson is uniquely crafted to fit the individual student. The hourly price covers all materials that will be needed to complete the lesson - students do not have to purchase the materials separately to attend.
I use both verbal and visual teaching methods. I am very flexible with teaching styles and am willing to cater to different individual's preferred learning methods. I teach undergraduate students as well as students still in grade school. I am here to help you learn not memorize. I take the necessary time to show how to execute valuable techniques and show proper implementations.
I am a self & University taught in arts & studied many different mediums, but I gravitate towards the more craftier or folksy side of the arts spectrum I would say. I can teach just about any media or medium a student is interested in at any level in art, but my personal style is more in the abstract range.
Graduated high school with honor cords as Vice President of National Honor Society, currently attending college. Characteristics consist of being open minded, free spirited, curious, entertaining, and chatty. Depending on students’ self-discipline, overall lesson structure may be lose or strict.
(not me pictured! thats a quick study from life!) Anyone can learn to draw! All that's required is some patience and trusting one's own hand and eye. For beginning students, we will begin be copying a drawing or two, and learning to take apart visual space. Beyond that, we will carefully draw objects and space, and practice using line, shape, light & shadow to define a drawing.
My teaching method is to teach you the techniques and enhance your ideas of creativity! You will not be taught to paint like me but like you! Together we will discover your inner expression while learning the techniques to perfect the materials.
My lessons are more practice, because you have to feel and live the illustration, we will know different techniques then you can decide your illustration style. We will start with base forms for release our hands making different traces. Put color in our draw is not always easy, we will know about chromatic circle, complementary colors, triads of color and color scale.
I pick up stuff according to student choice and creativity pattern and guide and provide shape to project. I also teach my style of painting, handicraft and fine art. I enjoy working on art projects and add creativity/ ideas.
Given the endless possibilities with art, I will work one-on-one with students. Based on their needs and desires, tutoring may consist of the following: feedback/critique, recommendations, resources, explanations of methods concerning specific concepts, etc. For example, if a student needs assistance in building a portfolio for art school I would go over their current body of work.
I approach teaching by first assessing the needs of my individuals students, and determining how to meet them where they are in their experience level. I like to keep things light, and remind that failure is part of learning.
I base my classes on step by step explanation of the process together with visual demonstration.
I base my classes on what I have learned and what I have taught myself throughout the years.
I believe in the personal unique artistic voice of each student developed through technical mastery and work. Although each student has a different skill set and level, each student can harness their creativity through their own personal experience.
My teaching method is principle based. Starting with fundamental art skills to build on for beginners. Then step by step I teach students to add more understanding for each level throughout each step. For intermediate and advance artists, I apply methods for maturing skills into focus and vision for more clarity in art.
I can be hyper involved when I need to be, but I believe its important to step back and guide through mistakes. I've learned through experience that its important to know when to step back, for a more productive lesson.
I have been painting murals in north of California, teaching kids ceramic, art crafts and painting. I created my own website and familiar how to use photoshop and smilier software but more complicated than photoshop. I teach anyone who has the desire to learn about art. I don't have specific techniques.
I'm going to be your cheerleader first and foremost. Your art is your art. Your style is your style. No one else can create what you can create. No matter what level you are at, someone out there will find your art to be the most delightful thing they have ever seen and someone else will dislike it with a mad passion. The important thing is to work toward YOUR goal with your art.
Many people avoid making art because they think they have no artistic talent. Creating art can seem like a scary and unattainable goal, especially for those who are relatively new to the art world. I offer beginner-intermediate level lessons, providing the basic building blocks of 2D art, and helping students develop their inner artist.
I believe that the best way to learn art is to do it. Everyone is capeable of being an artist, but they will never know until they try. Painting is a wonderful way to explore oneself and grow, not just as an artist, but as a person.
My teaching method is based on teaching technical knowledge through low pressure activities designed to learn to see the world better and experiment with materials as well as assigning concept and skill based assignments to develop a unique artistic language.
I teach people of all ages who are looking to hone their skills in a particular medium. Our lessons will be project-based and geared toward either learning the fundamentals of a medium or learning tips and tricks to sharpen your craft for more advanced students.
