My teaching method is basically to let students gather all the knowledge they have and put them into categories and the specific type o question this equation is going to solve.
The goal I have is to always for the student to learn, in his/her own pace. I try to make them visualize the problem and create a process to solve it, so they know how to approach similar problems in the future.
My teaching philosophy is to help students discover how to do things for themselves. We'll work together to summarize the current topic, discuss the core information, and apply it to problem solving exercises. Students will come away with a better understanding of the material and strategies for working out problems.
I am currently pursuing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. When teaching a topic or concept, I preview the important points of that topic, bringing important points or related topics to provide context and ensure that it is better appreciated. I solve examples or questions for students to see how the concept is actually applied, and end lessons with summaries of the concept.
As a college student, I am willing to tutor other students in college, or those that are still in high school! I would love to help anyone with an interest in science and math who is willing to continue learning and improving in their classes.
Teachers and tutors have to have an understanding of the student that they are to instruct. That's why I take an extensive approach to understanding who I am tutoring so I may provide them with the best possible experience.
College graduate with a BS in Physics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia looking to help others in their understandings of difficult subjects such as physics and various levels of mathematics. I will review concepts of the subject that may not be clear or misunderstood and work towards a better overall clarity of the subject.
I am a graduate in physics, and I have worked in computational physics for several years. I taught physics, calculus and linear algebra for the undergraduate students for more than eight years. I try to be clear as possible. I like to illustrate theory trough the resolution of problems.
College student studying Engineering in Pennsylvania, USA. Ideally focuses on teaching concepts to foster understanding, rather than examples to foster rote memorization. The younger a student learns how to process and solve problems, the easier and faster it will grow to be.
I'm a college student in STEM field gives Math and Chemistry lesons by tutoring one on one or group settings. My lesson will depend on how strong your foundation is, and we will build over again to make sure you comfortably understand all Mathematical concepts.
BBA, Statistics - Temple University 1972 The key to knowledge is deep understanding. I will use your current classes, the ones that you need help with. I will teach you the deep reasons behind the subject matter so that after a while, you will be able to advance on your own.
I received a degree in physics from Haverford College, where I studied classical mechanics, electromagnetics, quantum mechanics, calculus, and other sciences. In solving specific problems, I answer questions and provide hints when a student gets stuck.
I work directly with a student to identify what help is needed most. When working one-on-one we can review fundamentals, review homework, or work on practice problems from a review book or online. I have helped students with algebra, trigonometry, calculus, introductory physics, and AP physics.
Alan Summers. Education: PhD in Physiology, MD in Psychiatry, MS in Biomedical Engineering. Now retired. Teaching methodology matches the skills and experience of the student, and the student's career direction. Students: High School, through College. Will look at special problems such as test anxiety, memorization abilities, social anxiety, homework-adjustment problems.
My goal in teaching is to understand the underlying reasoning and fundamental logic behind math and science problems. I'm sure there are many great teachers out there who help students solve problems.
I have a doctorate degree in Physics from University of Cambridge, UK and possess more than ten years of teaching experience. I also bring alongwith me a strong grasp in Mathematics and General Sciences for taking these as my majors while I was studying for my Bachelors degree in Sciences.
have demonstrated competency in the educational environment with strong classroom management skills which help ensure harmonious flow of discussion. A highly motivated self-starter with a passion for teaching, I have the ability to integrate and work well as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
My teaching methodology is mainly focused on student interaction. Students learn through gradual steps, so that is how I'll present information, in small easy to comprehend steps that'll build on previous information. If one can learn the core foundation of a subject, then learning the rest will be easy.
I will adapt to cater to the learning style of the students. I tend to emphasize understanding the fundamentals and try to make sure students have a grasp of the basics rather than just memorizing them. I have been known to include a lot of examples and illustrations in my lessons.
I hold the following degrees from the named institution along with the date I received it: Master's in Education, Arcadia University, 2002 Master's in Biomedical Engineering, 1987, Drexel University Bachelor of Science Biology and Chemistry, 1982, Arcadia University I have also received training in "Technology in Education" and best practices as part of the professional development programs...
I am a retired Special Education Teacher who specialized in Mathematics and the Sciences. I worked at the high-school and elementary levels during my career. I have worked with students of all ability levels in both Special and Regular Education classes. My approach to teaching can best be summed up as student centered.
My teaching methods begin with better understanding the particular student's learning process. Because each individual is different, I like to change the way I teach to what works best with the individual. In addition, I incorporate many visuals to better understand mathematical concepts, and shortcuts to more easily remember certain algorithms or formulas.
I find tutoring extremely rewarding and enjoy working one on one or in small groups with students to help pinpoint their conceptual misunderstandings.
I greatly enjoy tutoring math and physics because it gives me a sense of fulfillment to see students finally understand how to complete a problem after struggling for so long. Math and physics can initially be very difficult to comprehend, but with practice and clear instruction they can actually be fun and interesting. My approach is to stress critical thinking skills and not just memorization.
I had Bsc deg. in Biology and Chemistry and had worked in pharmaceutical industry for over 15 years' During this period, the application of Maths and other area of science were very functional in my daily work assignment. All the subjects listed above are use in one way or the other.
Mechanical Engineer. Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with a 3 above GPA Lessons to students weak on Mathematics Physics and Chemistry. Some undergraduate maths courses and mechanical engineering courses are also taught by me.
I am an Urban Education & Physics major at The College Of New Jersey. I am a very humorous yet serious instructor who can teach difficult topics to students who struggle with completing them. I make fun/understandable lessons plans .
I am a recent graduate of the University of Rochester's Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering program. I am entering the Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering program at Cornell University this coming August. I enjoy tutoring subjects that are pertinent to engineering such as physics and mathematics.
EDUCATION 9/2005 – 5/2009 Indiana University, Bloomington, IN Major: Biology B.S & Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP), which is an honors-level interdisciplinary certificate program offered by College of Arts and Sciences in cooperation with Kelley School of Business.
I am senior in college studying Physics and Mathematics as my double major with a triple minor of Biology, Chemistry, and Dance. I am passionate about education and helping students learn and enjoy the subjects I enjoy greatly like Mathematics. I have done a lot of research, programs, and have a variety of experience and advice I hope to share with all my students.
