I mainly focus on understanding and building strong conceptual foundations. I try to make my classes as much interactive as possible. I also focus on problem-solving and teach looking at a problem from different angles. I usually teach high school students and undergrad level students. I love to take up questions in and after the class.
I always try to make science attractive to my students first. The feedback I usually receive from my students is that they feel how amazing and interesting is the natural sciences after taking my classes! I always try to teach my students the beautiful and amazing science behind the formula and raw data.
My style of teaching is questions driven teaching. I can help you most if you ask me lots of questions ( even if a question seems stupid to you or your classmates, ask it, any number of times.) Besides that, I like you to imagine whatever concepts I teach you.
I stress fundamentals, especially in calculus and physics. Math is something you build on. If the student lacks experience with fundamental concepts, more often than not, I will pause the ongoing lesson to equip the student with the necessary tools and knowledge on how to use them. Lesson plans are simply guidelines, and if the student is more likely to succeed without it, I will get rid of it.
I teach by motivating and involving the student in the learning process.
I have a M.S and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, as well as a bachelor in chemistry. I have also had a postdoctoral training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Furthermore, I am a trained criminalist, and have been trained in CPR and first aid.
I am a physician in the Bay Area offering math and science tutoring for students at all academic levels, including preparation for AP exams, SAT, and MCAT. I’m also offering assistance with written assignments. In my lessons, I focus on critical thinking and understanding the subject matter while minimizing the amount of pure memorization required.
I have recently graduate college in Chemistry major from SUNY Plattsburgh, and I want to continue my graduate study in West Coast. I love solving problems and doing calculation in Calculus, Chemistry and Physics, and I like tutoring college and high school students.
I approach teaching by starting with the basic theory then use a simple example to understand concepts. Then I work with the student on other more difficult problems and guide them in simple steps, patiently making any corrections as necessary.
I'm a student, studying Physics, at SJSU. I've tutored elementary school, middle school, high school, community college, and SJSU students. The technique I like to use to teach these students is Socratic: paraphrase a student's question and make them come up with the correct answer, encouraging/guiding them along the way.
As an undergraduate Physics major, I am capable of tutoring any student enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school level mathematics or sciences. I always attempt to begin where a student's understanding seems weak or confusing, and I cater to these weaknesses by building stable foundations from simple ideas that can eventually support much more complex concepts.
I am Jonalisa and I studied civil engineering for 3 years. I give lessons to those who have difficulty in understanding physics, trigonometry, algebra, geometry and even some engineering subjects. I usually teach the short methods in solving problems but I teach first the long methods so that it will be easier for the students to understand the subject matter.
I like to focus upon making sure that the students can not only answer the questions, but understand the approach to the questions as well. I am direct, and I don't want to ever just give a student an answer. If a student is trying to understand, I will never stop trying to find new approaches to help them further their education.
I am an IIT & IIM school graduate (ranked among top 5 schools in India) and has a passionate for teaching maths and science across all levels (preferably Senior). I can also teach Electrical engineering to the engineering graduates and students.
I like teaching students are willing to learn and study hard. I can be very energetic and excited about science in engineering topics and can have very interesting conversation about sciences and engineering topics. I am very patient and willing to work with a student who want to achieve higher in learning.
Simple. It is like '..you are new to this (subject) area, I will show you around..' Roughly: Step 1, make sure the student is aware of the expected learning outcomes according to the syllabus. Step 2, introduce new concepts and definitions with sufficient background information to aid absorption and retention of new information.
An excellent teacher, author and a meditator with over 40 years of teaching experience, co-author of the book Practical Chemistry and certified with academic honors with distinction in Master of Science and Technology from Kean University. Specializes in Test Prep and High School curriculums.
I believe when the students are actively participating in the class discussion and ask questions about how and why the concepts should work in a particular way, they learn a lot more. I always make sure that my students are strong with their basic concepts, if they aren't, that's where I begin my job.
I have experience in the industry and academia. In the industry I have trained technicians and junior engineers. In academia, I can teach up to college level mathematics, physics, and basic engineering. I currently support the Optics, and Electronics classes at the Naval Postgraduate School.
As lecture/instructor and assistant professor in physics and astronomy, I have been using active teaching for university students with science or engineering majors the fundamentals of physics: mechanics, statics, electricity, magnetism, and even control theory! Usually, my lessons have been of a mixed format in-person and online assignments.
I approach my lessons with each student according to what they need most. I like to get to know my students and find out what motivates them and help them apply that motivation to the study of math and physics. I work with each student to keep up with their curriculum and assignments, but also work to discover what they most need help with in order to succeed in their classes.
