Hello ! My name is Marissa, you can call me Rissa. I teach entry level piano and music theory all the way up to advance. I believe baby steps is the key. If you don't know the basics then stay here! I know them! I can help you learn in the best way I can.
I took piano lessons for 5 years and continued to practice on my own for several years. I received a Music Minor from Texas A&M University. Being in choir throughout school is what gave me my background in sight reading and music theory. This knowledge was strengthened by playing piano on a regular basis. I currently give piano lessons part-time but am looking to increase my student base.
I have taken private lessons since the age of 7, studied at TCU and performed in Churches, solo as well as trained choirs for many years. I have also received numerous musician awards and certificates for my performances.
I teach beginners and intermediates. I teach students how to read music, how to understand basic music terminology and music theory, and to start playing right away! I am able to teach regular music, jazz, classical, church music, contemporary music, etc.
I base my classes on the Alfred books. I also like to use Czerny or Hannon exercises to build finger strength.
Hi! I am a very proficient musician and music teacher. My main instrument is the trumpet and my secondary instrument is the piano. I have played these both for 14 years. I grew up playing trumpet in numerous regional and national ensembles.

I've been playing instruments since I was nine years old, starting with the piano. I'm a very patient teacher who's very passionate about music and eager to help those that want to learn. I can teach piano and music theory at beginner to intermediate levels, and viola at a beginner level.
I graduated high school in Marysville, WA. After that I worked for a few years and then went back to school at Blue Mountain Community College for a year and a half where I majored in Music Performance. I am now attending Full Sail University, where I am in my Junior year and I am receiving my Bachelor's in Music Production.
From the age of 4 my parents put me behind the piano. I had private lessons every week with some of the best teachers for classical music. Before beginning school, I was already able to read sheet music. I continued into studying voice where I was the president of my school choir as well as took more private lessons.
Learning to sight read fluently is the foundation. I teach through the Bastien curriculum and patiently guide the student through the basics of classic music notation, building on each concept week by week. If the student is dedicated to consistent practice, there is no limit to the excellence they can achieve.
