I have had experience playing in the recording studio, music direction, conducting, arranging/composing, producing, and teaching.
I have always studied music, starting with performing arts high school where I studied music. Got my Bachelor in Music Performance, Clarinet from Crane School of Music and my Master in Scoring for Film and Multimedia from NYU. I am now a working film and musical composer in NYC.

I started playing the piano when I was 3 and have received lessons since I was 4 years old. I have studied under Stephen Graff and am currently a part of the Hunter College Conservatory. I have been giving lessons since I was 16 and have taught 12 students so far. I believe music is a wonderful outlet to express yourself and I am looking to share that passion with others.
Every student is very different and has individual strengths and needs. I believe a student needs strong guidance and clarity, but I like to include my student's taste into my the decision making process. Learning how to play piano is a lot of work. Ultimately, I like the learning process to be as rewarding as the results.
holds a M.M and B.M in Vocal performance from the Berklee College of Music. Currently, performs/teaches all styles of music from Musical Theater, Classical, Jazz, Rock, Pop, R&B, and Country. I have studied music since my childhood. In NYC, I attended The Manhattan School of Music (BA in Music Theory) and Hunter College (MA in Composition). Music theory is of great interest to me for its beauty and as a composer; and the piano is the vehicle I use to compose, teach and, of course, play for fun.
Open to all ages and experience levels, I spend my time building rapport and adapt to each and every student in order to understand their abilities, goals and potential. My philosophy lies in promoting personal growth and pushing boundaries comfortably so that students can be the best version of themselves.
When teaching, I will take into account your goals and find out exactly what you want to learn, and then factor in your skill level to create a personalized lesson plan that will work for you. I want you to help you build practical skills and methods that you can use to help you be the best you can be.
I teach music theory, ear training, reading, and techniques. We start by learning scales, intervals, triads, 7th chords, and extensions. We also learn how to read music notation and sight singing. I always begin with the basics in order to build a strong technical foundation to build on.
My typical process for working with a student includes teaching music fundamentals: Hand Position, Scales (various types), proper basic technique (playing with correct posture, wrist motions, arm relaxation). From the first lesson I develop skills in music theory and train in playing with a steady beat and an accurate rhythm.
When I took piano lessons in middle school, I had a teacher from Julliard. I would enjoy playing on her Steinway piano and playing new sheet music and songs I would enjoy. That time spent learning from my piano teacher motivated me to want to pass on my knowledge to other people who want to be able to learn piano. I have challenged myself by attempting the A.B.R.S.M. Grade 8 test and passed.
Hi Everyone. I'm a singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist. If you're a beginner, advanced beginner or intermediate piano student, I would love to work with you. I also enjoy teaching beginner and intermediate guitar students. In addition to standard piano materials (John Thompson, Bastien, Hannon) your lessons will be supplemented by working on your own compositions.
There are many different way to approach learning an instrument, but because I was classically trained I value the traditional method of learning to sheet read music first and having that solid foundation on which to build upon. But more importantly, I want to make the experience engaging and fun for the beginning student.
I would be interested to assist the students using the knowledge I have developed through years of study, teaching and performing. I have gained many insights into piano technique, music theory, harmony, rhythm, music composition tools, as well as ear training and sight reading practice.
I believe students only want to learn what they want to learn for the most part. However, new musicians are happy when they can fully perform a new piece of music regardless of the difficulty. It is important to me to have a student walking out of each lesson with the ability to play a new song/piece. The lessons are guided by what genre piques any given students interest.
I've been playing piano since I was 5 years old and have been making music since age 10. I've played piano for churches, weddings, recitals, and special occasions and can play in different genres such as contemporary, classical, and gospel. I teach music reading and chords, as well as techniques and exercises to improve dexterity (i.e: Hanon, scales,).
I insist on learning basics of music upto a point that the basics of music become a part of students' personality which raises their understanding of music and they enjoy the music differently than a layman.
I love teaching as much as I enjoy performing and composing ! All levels of beginners, amateurs and professionals are welcome. I'm trying to provide a highly interactive approach considering the individual's needs and goals instead of a rigid methodic practice. Although my specialty is Jazz, I try to cover almost every genre as much as I can from Classical to Pop and other contemporary styles.
My training in piano started from when I was 5 years old. Since then, I continuously took piano lesson and have had performed on the stage as well. I continued my training in piano until the end of my undergraduate at the University of Hartford under David Westfall, Paul Rutman, Susan Cheng and Grace Smith.
It’s not enough to give scales and chords today, you have to give modern music and work backwards
I give one-on-one lessons to children and adults at all levels and musical styles. I cater my lessons towards learning styles and goals of each student. I teach all aspects of musical training- music notation, music theory, piano performance, playing by ear and composition. I offer 1 hour and 30 min. lessons depending on the age of a child.
