My teaching method is based on personal preference. I like to escape the “do it by the book” mentality and help people find what works for them.
I normally start by asking my students what their purpose on learning piano is, and basically go off from there
Generally I approach teaching by first understanding what about piano the student wants to learn or excites them- if that’s popular music, a certain genre, movies, songwriting, or working out of a book- I believe the learning process goes much smoother if the student is invested in the topics as much as I am.
I believe in teaching by example. Also giving students freedom to explore in learning. And guiding them based on my experience and other successful musicians.
It’s not enough to give scales and chords today, you have to give modern music and work backwards
I teach note reading, rhythm, fingering technique, and ear training to beginners and advanced students.
I base my method on each individual students’ needs. As far as method books, I prefer Faber but have experience teaching in multiple method books. I also teach theory, ear training and rhythm studies.
My teaching method is to be dynamic in classes, having interesting activities, practicing the lessons, and share our knowledge to others
I assess each student individually and teach according to their knowledge and skill level, whether you have an audition coming up, or you always wanted to learn something new and entertaining!
My teaching methodoly includes kodaly(hand signs)and orff(learning by playing). Students have the opportunity to learn to read, write, and play music fluently.
I take a cultural as well as practical approach to music. Besides teaching the fundamentals of playing piano, I focus on technique, accompanying, sight reading, music theory, ear training and musicality.
Motherly & friendly attitude in the comfort of their home.
My teaching method I believe for students to learn the easy way is memorization and love to move your fingers on the piano
My teaching method is to create a strong foundation first by teaching music theory and the basics such as scales and arpeggios in order for more challenging material to be quickly and more easily learned in the future.
When starting out, I teach music theory because I believe that foundations matter. I am a patient teacher and will do everything I can to help the student succeed.
I base my teaching on fun learning. Simple and hands on training... Piano is an art and teaches to have hand, eye and feet coordination. Teaches discipline and patient. You will need tablet for notes and instructions, learning mindset, and confidence and patience with yourself... It is a process that pays off as you put forth the effort to practice. It is rewarding experience.
My teaching method is very hands-on. My lessons use different books depending on your piano capabilities.
I think I would start with understanding the students interest and what he hopes to accomplish in his learning music.
Mis clases se basan en aprender a tocar con bases sólidas, buena técnica, lectura de partitura y preparación de conciertos si el alumno lo desea. El nivel y la velocidad de aprendizaje lo pone el alumno.
I teach the fundamentals of music theory starting from basics and outline the way that the concepts expand to interact with and relate to each other with little focus on sheet music.
Learn to play like Billy Joel :) Start playing Beatles...first lesson!! Learn Solo playing, accompaniment, keyboard player in band, Advanced Jazz/Blues Improvisation.
Learn in a way that works best for you truly Thats's all I believe needs to be done to prosper beautifully!
My teaching method is direct instruction then direct application on your instrument.
I think it is important to first find out what kind of musician you want to be. Do you want to.. - Learn popular songs to play for your family? - Learn classical or jazz songs? - Become a professional musician? - Practice ear training and chords to further your music career Theres no one answer and every reason you want to play is a good one.
I was born in Moscow, Russia. My mother was a piano teacher and started me playing at 4. I studied at the legendary Moscow Conservatory with Victor Merzhanov. In the US, I won the Houston Symphony Ima Hogg Young Artist Competition and debuted with the Symphony performing Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto. I earned my Bachelor's of Music at the University of Houston.
I adapt my teaching to the students needs. Every student learns at his own pace. Personal practice is of utmost importance.
My teaching method preferably is in person. However, I can also teach piano theory online or in person as well.
My lessons have fundamental classics (Mozart, Beethoven) popular and jazz music. How to shape the fingers, hands & mind.
I approach topics by first talking and making sure students get how to do it, have an example, then allow students to experiment and attempt the skill.
I help each student discover what music they find most rewarding to play. I foster a deep understanding of music and offer multiple contrasting approaches.

Thousands of tutors can teach you piano. Find private lessons closest to you.
It's truly fascinating how chords and scales come together to produce a beautiful melody. By learning to play the piano, you can play your favorite songs anytime you feel like. What's more, the longer you practice, the better you get. But, how to get started? Three words: private piano lessons. Piano is not something you can learn in a classroom. Learning this craft requires personal attention, wherein, the piano teacher is able to give you one-on-one lessons, judge your capabilities, and go about the teaching according to your pace and grasping power. Piano teachers create a specific set of lessons for each of their students, so that the students learn all the bits and nuances, and ultimately, master the craft.
Apart from piano, there are a variety of other musical instruments you can learn through private tutoring, such as the flute, trumpet, trombone, and even Djing. Many private tutors teach multiple instruments; a skilled flute or trombone tutor is capable of giving Djing lessons too. Similarly, you can learn to play a variety of woodwind instruments from transverse flute teachers who're learned flutists. By learning to play multiple instruments, you can really carve your niche as a successful artist in the world of music.
Our professors write articles about their subjects to help you better understand the material.
