I teach mostly from the John Thompson book methods. My style is very easy and relaxed, but focused and goal oriented. I'm an easy guy to get along with, and I love teaching all ages of students, from 8 to 80.
I am a father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoy teaching all ages privately one on one, using positive reinforcement. I put myself in the student's place, present methods of learning new things and work together with him/her to learn it and have fun while doing it.
I mainly work with suzuki method that seems to work with little children from 3 years old onwards. But i also feel the importance of teaching the normal method which also allows the students the freedom to read scores and become independents. I combine both of them successfully.

As a professional musician for over 20 years, I can help beginners all the way up to advanced students studying saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, music theory, composition, arranging and improvisation. I have studied organ and piano since I was 9 years old. I graduated from MCC in McHenry, IL with a focus on piano and theory. My training is classically based. I write music for my students as well as prepared and arrange songs for my students in the level they are in. My students pick the songs they want to learn.
Based on my education, training, and experience I have developed an approach that can be summarized in four rules. 1. The notes and the music are not the same thing. 2. Technique and interpretation are the same thing. 3. Practicing is practical and 100% goal oriented. 4. Hard work is never in vain. This approach is flexible and works with all ages and levels.
My teaching method is based off of each student. I have learned over the years that not just one method works for every child or adult. One of the most important things to me is finding a positive mix between ear training, technique, note reading, and building overall confidence each lesson.
I am a music graduate with a diploma in interdisciplinary studies, and I teach at all levels of music theory, from beginner to advanced. My teaching method is simple; I approach each topic at its most basic level. In that way, it will be much easier for the student to grasp each and every topic.
I teach piano through traditional reading, using materials based on the learner's age. I teach classical voice, starting with vocalizing and folk songs, moving into classical repertoire.

My teaching method is simple - every person and every student is different. What might work wonderfully as a learning tactic for one student, could be the absolute last resort for another. So, I work on a student-by-student basis, designing lesson plans that cater to the strengths and weaknesses of individuals. I have worked with students as young as four, up through adults.
My methodology is: work smarter, not harder. Technique is of the upmost importance to achieve musical goals without damage to the musician. I give lessons up to college level voice (especially audition cuts and musical theatre singing) and up to intermediate guitar/ukulele/piano. I will expect students to warm up before a lesson as well as with me at the beginning of each session.
My training in piano started from when I was 5 years old. Since then, I continuously took piano lesson and have had performed on the stage as well. I continued my training in piano until the end of my undergraduate at the University of Hartford under David Westfall, Paul Rutman, Susan Cheng and Grace Smith.
I'm currently enrolling Berklee College of Music undergraduate program (with full scholarship), and this is my 5th semester. I mainly teach Jazz piano, and music theory (both Jazz and Classical). My uniqueness as a teacher would be a huge amount of resources and examples that I can offer you during classes.
Each student is unique in their own way and I adapt a lesson plan that will accomplish their goals so they can read and play music. I work with them to teach them how to practice correctly, since they spend most of their time without teaching guidance and it is important that they develop great practice habits to be successful.

I am a graduate of the University of Arizona. I have received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. I am also a certified teacher in the state of Texas, as well as Arizona. My certification is for Kindergarten through High School, all levels of music. I have a certification to teach general classes at the Elementary Level K-5th grade from Sam Houston University.
I am a jazz pianist and composer. I teach each lesson with a simple to understand, chord and ear training methodology. Vocals and lyric making are only added when a student displays enough competence in piano mechanics and sound structuring.

Music will involve some basic math. Each student will start off with the Teaching Little Fingers to Play Book by John Thompson with an exercise book, A Dozen A Day Book 1.

I have had professional development in Suzuki, Orff, Kodally, Thompson,Gordon and many other methodolgies. I use a combination of all of them to reach the individual student's needs. My own method picks the most useful from the established methods and makes them practical to the student.
The key to being a successful teacher is understanding your students learning styles and adjusting your methods to best suite their needs. With this in mind, I tailor each lesson for individual students by understanding their goals, determining their level, selecting appropriate repertoire.
