I tailor the lessons to each student. My main goal is to share my love of music with your or your children. I just don't teach my students how to play the piano, but musicianship. I use a combination of Suzuki, Bela Bartok’s Mikrocosmos, and Faber’s Adventures in piano. I work with many ADHD kids and kids on the spectrum.
I truly love sharing the gift of music with my students! As a professional musician for over 20 years, I can help beginners all the way up to advanced students studying saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, music theory, composition, arranging and improvisation. My focus is always to help my students build their skills and confidence, step-by-step.
I teach mostly from the John Thompson book methods. My style is very easy and relaxed, but focused and goal oriented. I'm an easy guy to get along with, and I love teaching all ages of students, from 8 to 80.
I have studied organ and piano since I was 9 years old. I graduated from MCC in McHenry, IL with a focus on piano and theory. My training is classically based. I write music for my students as well as prepared and arrange songs for my students in the level they are in. My students pick the songs they want to learn.
For me the main thing is to understand what the student wants and to help him achieve the expected goal. Having a classical school of composition, I am an excellent music theorist, I always reveal to the student the form of a musical work, as well as the way this work was written.
Based on my education, training, and experience I have developed an approach that can be summarized in four rules. 1. The notes and the music are not the same thing. 2. Technique and interpretation are the same thing. 3. Practicing is practical and 100% goal oriented. 4. Hard work is never in vain. This approach is flexible and works with all ages and levels.
My teaching method is based off of each student. I have learned over the years that not just one method works for every child or adult. One of the most important things to me is finding a positive mix between ear training, technique, note reading, and building overall confidence each lesson.
I am a music graduate with a diploma in interdisciplinary studies, and I teach at all levels of music theory, from beginner to advanced. My teaching method is simple; I approach each topic at its most basic level. In that way, it will be much easier for the student to grasp each and every topic.
I like to tailor my teaching approach to each individual. I believe that we all learn in different ways and learning music should be accessible and exciting for you whether you are a visual learner or a kinesthetic learner; a natural or someone who requires a little more cooking time; from a musical family or having never seen a sheet of music in your life.
My methodology is: work smarter, not harder. Technique is of the upmost importance to achieve musical goals without damage to the musician. I give lessons up to college level voice (especially audition cuts and musical theatre singing) and up to intermediate guitar/ukulele/piano. I will expect students to warm up before a lesson as well as with me at the beginning of each session.
My training in piano started from when I was 5 years old. Since then, I continuously took piano lesson and have had performed on the stage as well. I continued my training in piano until the end of my undergraduate at the University of Hartford under David Westfall, Paul Rutman, Susan Cheng and Grace Smith.
I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Music Education. My primary instrument is voice, but I have 12 years of piano background. I am offering piano instruction online for beginners, instructing in playing the piano as well as general music knowledge (such as reading notes on the staff, writing music, basic music theory).
Each student is unique in their own way and I adapt a lesson plan that will accomplish their goals so they can read and play music. I work with them to teach them how to practice correctly, since they spend most of their time without teaching guidance and it is important that they develop great practice habits to be successful.
My teaching method is to teach the basics in an individual way per student. I find early on what the students best method of learning is and I teach them in a way they can access the information easily.
Hi there! My name is Ryan and I am a recent grad from UC Davis. I love working with people and want to be able to pass on my love for playing the piano. I cater my methods to each person and depending on what they want to do with the piano whether it be reading music, chord progressions or accompaniment playing.
I will base my classes in what is most important for the student to be successful. Whatever they need to move along the most efficient. I will move at a pace that is good for them and their learning method.
I'm an adaptive teacher, whatever level my student's knowledge is in the given field, together we assess goals and tangible milestones and I put together a game plan specific to us. Each student is different, so that's how we approach every class.
I believe in a flexible manner of instruction responsive to age, personality, ability, and background of each individual. I have taught students with autistic and minor learning disabilities and have learned to be flexible in terms of methods and materials I use, as well as expectations and goals for each student.
I am a graduate of the University of Arizona. I have received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. I am also a certified teacher in the state of Texas, as well as Arizona. My certification is for Kindergarten through High School, all levels of music. I have a certification to teach general classes at the Elementary Level K-5th grade from Sam Houston University.
I am a jazz pianist and composer. I teach each lesson with a simple to understand, chord and ear training methodology. Vocals and lyric making are only added when a student displays enough competence in piano mechanics and sound structuring.
I have taught public school music (almost all areas: choral/band/keyboard/theory/theater) for grades K-12, and taught privately from ages 5-adult.
- Happy, friendly, people person. - Associate in Arts (AA) in Keyboard Technology - Years of education and playing experience in piano. - Offers a variety of approaches towards concepts regarding to piano playing and music theory. - Covers different subjects, with the end result of simultaneously relating each subject for maximum effectiveness.
I base my classes on how enthusiastic and willing the student wants to learn. The classes will only be as effective as the student makes it. We will start from the basics such as learning different keys, progressions, and so forth. This is more of a class for those that want to start learning how to play the piano.
I teach by traditional method, a 30 minute lesson once per week, twice a week if needed. Student should be “warmed up” and ready to play when the lesson begins. You will have technic excercises that will serve that purpose. Theory lessons will be emailed.
I believe that music can convey passion and feeling in a way no other art for can. I approach every piece with the intent of touching a soul and I teach my students to view music in the same way. I cover technical and theoretical aspects of music as well in the hope of helping students gain a better understanding of the structure and formation of songs across all genres.
Every student is very different and has individual strengths and needs. I believe a student needs strong guidance and clarity, but I like to include my student's taste into my the decision making process. Learning how to play piano is a lot of work. Ultimately, I like the learning process to be as rewarding as the results.
My teaching method is to have an understanding of basic music theory and the understanding of the grand scale. What each note means and how many counts to hold each note. Music will involve some basic math. Each student will start off with the Teaching Little Fingers to Play Book by John Thompson with an exercise book, A Dozen A Day Book 1.
My teaching method is based on providing the quickest route for students to play the music that they love, whether they are beginning, have learned by ear, or have learned classically. We will work on a variety of skills that will enable you to learn as quickly as possible, and learn on your own as well.
My specialty is with beginning through intermediate piano students. I enjoy watching joyful expressions on faces of new beginners: learning an instrument is FUN and ACHIEVABLE! Beginning students take half-hour lessons, and need to practice 15-20 minutes daily for maximum success. More advanced students can take 30, 45, or 60-minute lessons, and require 30+ minutes of daily practice.
The key to being a successful teacher is understanding your students learning styles and adjusting your methods to best suite their needs. With this in mind, I tailor each lesson for individual students by understanding their goals, determining their level, selecting appropriate repertoire.
