BA in Elementary Education, MA in Theatre Education. Experienced in primary grades in reading, writing and math. One on one helps bring the reading level to grade and more. I use the three modalities of learning: visual, aural, and kinsthetic.
I teach SAT and ACT prep in classes and 1-to-1. I hsve uniques strategies that employ such that the students can see the recurring patterns in the SAT and ACT question snd answer them with comfort and ease. I work hard to make sure my students have the confidence to tackle the SAT and ACT by working with them initially and then gradually leaving them to show me what they can do independently.
I base my instruction on what each student needs help with! My areas of expertise are reading, writing, grammar, and public speaking.
My teaching method in essay writing is to really have the student establish a sense of "full presence" with their own writing. What I mean by "full presence" is that the student has a set goal for the essay and is using a selective style and word choice to build a written product that truly reflects his or her interest in the literature being analyzed or stance on a given topic.
First, and most importantly, I believe in making learning FUN! We remember things we enjoy! I like to always have a clear understanding of the needs of the learner. I will talk to students about the areas of frustration, and also the parents (when possible for younger learners) to get as much information as possible.
When it comes to structuring my lessons, I focus on my students' goals, areas of interest, and areas in which they wish to improve. Knowing what students struggle with allows me to create lesson plans that are more effective. As an instructor, I strive to make every lesson as engaging and informative as possible, and my students' progress in a given subject area is my number one priority.
I am an English teacher. BA and MA in English linguistics. Ready to teach both kids and adults English and Arabic online or a public library. I believe in practicing the language skills as much as you can with a native speaker or instructor. Encourage reading and listening to improve language and vocabulary. I love listening to my students giving a lot of time and effort to convey the message .
I spend the first session getting to know my students in order to grasp what they're struggling in, what they hope to achieve academically, and what resources they need to do it. I then gather worksheets and cultivate a lesson plan that is individually crafted for them. Whether it be test prep, reading help, or writing tips, I have resources on hand from my grassroots tutoring program.
Initially, I like to get to know my students so that I can tailor their needs to the approach I take. Feedback from students is crucial; getting to know what they are comfortable with and what they may feel self-conscious about in their academic skills allows me to focus on building on weaknesses and encouraging strengths.
My technique is pretty simple, I believe in full immersion. I will show you some really cool stories, how they should be built, from the bottom up, and then I will expect you to make me some stories. These stories will be read to the class for feedback and certificates will be given at the end of the course for those that pass.
I use a variety of teaching methods, depending on student's learning style, level of progress, and his/her preferred strategies and activities--most important are ways to motivate and inspire each student according to his/her special talents and interests. I have taught all levels from Middle School to Ph.D. students and adult lifelong learners.
I have a friendly hands-on approach that assesses a student's strengths and weaknesses and, through practice and review, help the student achieve goals. I have a good rapport with students of all ages and find that they want to learn.
I base my classes on the Lesson Plan to be followed and own and shared knowledge of the world with the students: to associate what they are learning with the world. I try to make students communicate in the best possible way, with patience and once the pattern is established, I give them the opportunity to express themselves.
For test prep, I start by having the student take a practice exam. This can be done on their own time or during one of our sessions. Based on the exam results I will develop a plan of action for the student based on his or her needs.
My teaching methodology is based on tailoring lessons to each individual learner's need. Each student learns differently and needs a slightly different approach. I am experienced at modifying curriculum to suite a learner's need, interest, and learning style.
I always adapt my teaching method to the student and context. I believe in meeting individual students at the level they've already achieved and affirming, naming and congratulating them on their current skills sets. I present myself as a compassionate co-learner who just so happens to have the knowledge the student needs.
I approach each topic with the intent to make learning exciting and fun. Keeping each student attention can difficult at times, especially after being in school all day and then has to attend a tutorial session with me. I make a game out of it with incentive prices after a couple of weeks of successful sessions with me.
On Skype, I use screen sharing, a white board, or graphing boards. I am a native of Tucson, Arizona and a graduate of the University of Arizona. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with a General Studies Major. I utilize strategic tutoring so that students develop a learning plan structured to meet individual needs.
My teaching method is to make sure the student's needs are being met. Before I begin working with a student, my desire is to understand what needs they have first to prevent from waisting time. After that is established and I know what is needed, my goal is to provide a structured but fun, successful learning environment.
I have an MFA in poetry, a BFA in English, and a CELTA certificate, along with teaching endorsements in English, ESL, and GT (gifted and talented). I taught English Literature and Language to 7,8, and 9th graders for 10 years, ESL for several years, including several years of work with international students.
There is no one method. It depends on the age and maturity of the students. It also depends on their skill level and motivation. While it is sometimes helpful to make it as fun and engaging as possible, that would be inappropriate at other times, such as when teaching essay writing.
I am a sophomore English major and Honors student with experience as an assistant editor on my college literary journal. Over the summer, I co-taught a creative writing class for elementary and middle school students where I worked to provide the tools for learning, as well as structure and guidance.
I have taught Special Education for 17 years. I use a variety of modalities which best fit my students learning styles. It is important that we work together to overcome obstacles, both academic and emotional. We will learn together.
Are you struggling in reading or math? I have a BA and Masters in Special Education and a Reading Specialist Certification. I also am a certified Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant. I take the time to assess each student to find their strengths and weaknesses.
My teaching method is to help students find their own voice with supplemental instruction to what they have already been taught, and to help them be confident in their own abilities. A tutors job shouldn’t be to make others write like themselves.
Instruction in the "Great Hearts" teaching philosophy. Primary sources (both books and short material) with guided Socratic discussion following the reading. Books covered might include Huck Finn, My Antonia, The Great Gatsby, Walden, The Grapes of Wrath, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, The Federalist Papers.
I am a responsible and caring high school student with a knack for teaching. I strongly believe in adhereing to the different learnig types of children. I am a never give up type instrutor. I will do my best to make surebthe person i am instructing gets the topic in abway they understand.
My teaching method is conversationally based. I like the students to come to a conclusion themselves rather than me telling them and marking up their papers with a bunch of red ink. I am happy to help anyone in any level of English with their writing.
My teaching method is to personalized every lesson for my student. During our first session I give my student an academic assessment to see where they currently are, but I also give a multiple intelligence test, which allows me and the student to understand how they learn best.
I help you get to the answer, not hand it to you. I ensure you feel empowered to tackle your educational responsibilities, even when alone. This is the best way to guarantee continual growth and success for you. I bring & impart CIC - Compassion, Information & Confidence.
