My teaching method is a mix between inquiry based learning (exploration) and reinstating key terms. I like to approach my lessons by working backwards, for example, what is on the exam...
My method is versatile and can change depending on the context or the student. I base my classes vocabulary study to be able to have conversations about movies, music, sports, and family. I also focus on reading texts at the level of the language learner when appropriate.
I am currently a high school Spanish teacher, but I have taught everyone from pre-K students, to adults learning Spanish. I studied at the University of Michigan for my B.A. and M.A., and I studied abroad in Spain and Argentina. I teach using real world applications of Spanish, and engaging lesson activities to make learning the language memorable, fun, and immersive.
Much of the teaching formulated is curated on the level of the tutee. I am able to assess this in a couple questions and exercises. I then dive straight into engaging the tutee with speaking and written exercises. We go over these activities together and practice constantly.
My lessons are customized and focused on speaking and listening. If you are a businessman or woman or an executive of a multinational company and you're looking for improving your Portuguese or Spanish skills to be able to communicate with your clients, customers, students, patients...I am your teacher.
