I spend the first session getting to know my students in order to grasp what they're struggling in, what they hope to achieve academically, and what resources they need to do it. I then gather worksheets and cultivate a lesson plan that is individually crafted for them. Whether it be test prep, school help, or problem-solving tips, I have resources on hand from my grassroots tutoring program.
I provide video lectures to the students so that they could better understand the subjects. I try my best to find the best articles so that they could learn a lot and perform wonderfully in exams.
Graduated from UC Berkeley in applied mathematics in May 2018. I am open to tutoring anyone so long as the topics are within my abilities. Learning is different for everyone and I believe we should take the time to figure out the most effective learning methods.
I typically teach by reinforcing the method that the student's teacher is teaching the students. I will use the student's notes and/or book to assist in teaching. If the student struggles to understand, then I will teach an alternate method if there is one that can be taught.
I am a Graduate from the Ecole Polytechnique in France that provides a world class Mathematics level, and a PhD Candidate in MIT. I have taught in French High schools in the past, and had more then 10 private students perusing Undergraduate&Masters degrees in Mathematics and Physics. My method consists in explaining the fundamental reasoning behind the math through real-life examples.
I am a recent graduate student from University of Michigan. I am interested in teaching maths to the young youth. I believe that if concepts and basics are clear than a student can solve any difficult problem in maths and can perform well in all areas.
I teach in an engaging manner and make sure my students contribute actively. I come to my class with an Ipad or my iPhone, were my lecture notes are stored. I also talk about social activities outside the class to know about the students.
Hi there, I'm Thomas Ryan, I studied Pure and Applied Mathematics with a minor in Philosophy at Boston University. I am very articulate and am able to help people- of all abilities with a willing heart and desire to learn- comprehend math as rule-based system that it is. Essentially math is a language, some people have a knack to speak it, and others less so.
I am originally from Bulgaria, where I trained as an engineer. I have experience teaching computer literacy and mathematics. I have taught math in public schools and also through the Russian School of Math. I love seeing the ties between math and computer programming and using this to bridge student understanding.
My teaching methods are all about my students. I like to find what works best for you! Real world application, diagrams, practice problems, memorization techniques, whatever help make it stick! I am incredibly patient and flexible. My goal is your learning.
I believe that every student can learn and understand mathematics when it is explained clearly and reinforced with visuals and hands on learning. In my high school classroom I consistently refer to test taking strategies, specifically in SAT related questions, and teach my students tricks and jokes to remember new mathematical theorems and formulas.
I can give lessons to high school students and gen-ed classes in college in science and mathematics (examples are AP classes in high school, and Intro Chem, Physics, Calculus I and II in college) I like to make sure students understand topics by asking them why they took certain steps to solve a problem to make sure they understand the concept at its core, and can generalize that problem to others.
I have a degree in B.Sc. Mathematics from University of Delhi, India. After which I worked under Prof. Pragati Gautum as a research assistant for 1 year. I am pursuing my Masters in Applied Math from Northeastern University. I teach high school kids as well as at an undergraduate level. My teaching method is very interactive. I give more importance to concepts rather than just solving questions.
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA - Honors Geometry and Triganometry - Honors Algebra 1 and 2 -Honors Calculus Currently in college: Radiation therapy (undergrad) working toward getting my PH.D.
I graduated from a private boarding school in Boston and am a student at Boston College majoring in Economics. I have been teaching students varying in age from as young as 8 to seniors in high school. I have access to various tools online and offline to make your learning experience an efficient and effective one.
Mathematics helps to improve people's critical thinking. Though, learning critical thinking is a time-consuming process. I usually focus on the foundation in the beginning. The first session, I often have the student solve some math problems first, to see how much they remembered from the previous level of math, and how fast they can answer them, then I identify what they need the most.
I give lessons to 9 -12 graders; many of whom learn by doing and some who learn conceptually. I utilize a combination of teacher and student centered approaches to maximize student success. I base my classes on the level of success my students are experiencing, their need for remedial and retention.
I base my sessions on creating strong study skills, to give tailored approaches that maximizes the student's uptake of new information and recalling prior info.
I am a Mathematician by trade. However, I received a diploma in electrical engineering and aviation maintenance tech. Moreover, mathematics were always my passion I think that a good way to understand the universe that we live in can only happened to science and mathematics.
I am a passionate college student who loves to learn and teach others how to learn! I am very flexible with my tutoring methods. Whether a student wants to practice a particular set of problems or would like to be provided additional studying tools, I will provide as needed.
I try to make students feel comfortable in themselves teach them how to find their way to the answer through trial and error and hopefully like math in the way
Education: 2003-2010 BHCC and UMass Boston 1982-1985 Instituto Superior de Educação, Cape Verde ( Institute of High Education, Cape Verde- Bachelors in Math.) 2013 Bachelor degree in Math by UMass Boston.
I am an experienced middle and high school tutor with specialities in Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Chemistry, and Spanish. I have tutored for over 9 years from elementary to college levels.
I can teach any level of Math going from Arithmetic to Calculus. I also have been doing SAT and ACT prep as well as helping students prepare for college with placement test practice and college-readiness classes. Due to my experience I can easily adapt and follow curriculum and requirements from different schools, teachers and a variety of curriculum resources.
I am an honors program undergraduate student in Boston College who is major in math. I attended some math competitions when I was in middle and high school in China, so I am quite familiar with many math aspects such as algebra, geometry and trigonometry. I give lessons to those who have problems understanding math ideas and solving math problems.
I hold a MS in Electrical engineering and currently enrolled in a MS program in engineering at NEU, would like to help students understand not only theoretical maths but the scene behind mathematical concepts. looking forward meeting you for the next course.
One of the mantras I use in my classes over the last 30 years of teaching i"s Students should never say I can't but instead I DO"! You only learn from practice with real world type problems, identifying and learning from mistakes, not just from hearing me lecture.
I incorporate both visual and non-visual learning strategies into my tutoring. When students struggle with certain math problems, I ask them strategic questions to lead them to the correct answer. At the end of every lesson, I conjure up my own questions to test if they understand that day's material and consolidate their learning.
My teaching method is based on hands-on activities. If I can get the student to visually see what I'm saying and writing, it would help them more by forcing their minds to work more.
