I'd like to think about this tutoring as if we're members of a team, both improving and moving to success. Together, anyone can do anything. When teaching, I believe it's better to think of your teacher as your friend, as your teammate. That's what I want my students to feel like. Totally comfortable to ask me questions, think of new and creative ideas, and succeed in those ideas.
I offer a first consultation for free to talk through what you're looking to do with design. We can have a discussion about the kind of work you want to be doing, and what kind of skills you're looking to learn. Each week, I'll give you a project to work on based on your level. You'll complete the work outside of our meetings.

I was just a student for 15 years, so I know how the student mind works. I won't cover anything that's unnecessary or give any form of busy work because I don't want to waste anyone's time. The creative world is based around two things: how good you are and how much work you have. The faster you achieve both, the better. Without either, you simply just won't get any work.
Teaching takes as much learning as learning. I do my best to understand the learning method of each student I impact. Just because it makes sense to one student, does not mean it makes sense to all students. I enjoy teaching beginning and mid-level graphic designers the most.
My teaching method is straight forward, with each lesson progressing from the previous one. I base my classes on the experience of the student/s, and teach basic to advanced levels of experience. Lessons will have clear goals and easy to understand instructions.
Graphic Design is more than just sprinkling magic fairy dust onto a computer and woila out pops an aesthetic masterpiece. Design is about problem-solving for a client or issue and that takes training beyond learning software.
I do not teach to tell, I teach to give understanding. My philosophy has always been that if a question has to be asked more than once, then it probably wasn't explained well enough the first time. I love questions, I love passion, and I love engagement.
