Every student is unique. Each and every student has a different approach to learning. I base my teaching on the needs of my students. I can teach you the basics of this language, including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar in a few months. If you have travel plans, you will feel comfortable traveling to a Portuguese speaking country.
Firstly, I try to understand the students' needs in order to apply the appropriate methodologies. I seek, for example, to work with videos of international television programs (interviews, news programs, etc.) so that the student understands oral speech in a more realistic way.
I am a very patient, motivated, and enthusiastic teacher and I always adjust my teaching methods to the student's age, needs, and purpose. I never give up on a student and I am sure I can help him/her attain his/her full potential. I believe anyone can learn a new language but consistent repetition and refreshing before, during, and after class is needed.
My teaching methods are defined based on some elements: student age, goal of learning Portuguese, available time, previous level of knowledge of the language and personal learning profile. I base my classes on topics of interest to the student and the personal specificities of each one, defining an objective, flexible and interesting teaching program.
We can use websites, books, videos, and songs to help with your reading skills as well as your listening skills. I will happily help you with writing and editing any essays or documents that you have.
I see each student as unique, so I develop a specific lesson plan based on their specific goals. I try to make the lessons as fun and engaging as possible, so that students feel motivated to continue. I’ve tutored students that are children of Portuguese immigrants and want to learn their ancestors’ language. Others that want to retire, do business or just go on vacation to Portugal.

Having taught a lot of English speaking students I know what the biggest struggles are and I have tactics that will help them understand the language in a simpler way. Using real-life examples is a great way that I have found to make it easier for the student to relate and comprehend the language. I will always talk to my student and understand what works the best for them.
My teaching method is practice and repetitiveness. I believe more you talk more you learn, memorizing words and getting used to hear your voice in a different language.

I like understanding what is the best way my student can learn - it can vary from person to person, so then we can plan the classes in a creative and fun way, but vey professional. Because of that, I base my approaches on a mixture of methods so I can meet different levels and needs.
