I operate through a disciplined framing of questions in conversation, such that the student is guided not towards the “answer”—but towards what it is they already know that will help them find the answer. My ideal student is one who is open to a style of teaching that may at first seem slow—conversation based, question based—because I believe that is the ideal way to learn.
The lessons are for any student of any age. I encourage the use of and personally use material spoken or written by Germans. All material I utilize must originate in Germany. This provides reliable material that encourages proper pronunciation and an ear tuned to German spoken by Germans.
I am very picky with learning fundamentals and basics in every subject I teach, not only in languages. The right pronunciation is one of the basics I really focus on. The less hassle the student has later to speak the language well. Languages and lessons need to be fun in order to have a successful student or client.
Application based. I like to speak with my students, rather than work on paper. It is most important to me to be able to communicate in the language in a spoken way. I also include German culture so students can understand some of the "Why's.
I have taught German for the past 19 years to people from various source languages. I believe in immersion, meaning we plunge into a German reality for fun and engaging learning. Grammar, vocabulary building, writing, and cultural learning form part of my syllabus. I have many resources to draw from. Lot's of visuals and interesting articles for all.
I've been teaching for over a decade, various students, various levels, various needs and various subjects. There's nothing I love more though than teaching languages! Depending on a level I combine grammar fundamentals with creative ways of learning vocabulary and a fair share of good old conversation.
As a tutor, I should project energy and enthusiasm. I would involve my students and let them have an active role in my session. I would have games, role play to keep the learning fun. I would praise them generously whenever they earn it. Timely feedback and chances to improve play important role in motivating a student.
I teach by engaging students not only in grammar exercises but also in conversations about life and literature. I can provide as much or as little structure as the student(s) want, and I am happy to tailor my lessons to individual needs.

My specialty is academic German and I perceive language in a formal and schematic sense, though this intimate understanding of language affords me a high degree of freedom in the content and manner of my lessons. Should you employ my services, we would discuss the content and goal of the course and lessons and thereby negotiate a scope and pace.
My teaching method really depends on the German skills the individual student has acquired so far - if any - and on the student's goal and age. Due to my experience I prefer to teach German to the younger crowd, ranging from preschool through high school. If you are an adult who wants to learn German as a hobby or for a vacation in Germany, I would also love to teach you.
My philosophy on language learning is understanding the basic grammatical structure and the reasons the language is structured the way it is. I also think language learning relies on cultural learning and I incorporate as much cultural information as possible through different types of exercises.
We would review vocabulary and start with simple conversations. I feel its best to learn a language by using it and not just by reading rules in the book. We will put what we learned in context from the get go.
I would say my teaching method is fairly laided back. I feel if students picked to learn a language, they should mostly be driving themselves to learn. I myself learned with the help of worksheets, and educational articles written on German grammer. I have even written my own articles, in which I try to explain concepts by showing how similar German is to English.

I teach German to people of all ages. Since I believe that a language can be learned best by applying it, I try to engage my students in speaking German as much as possible. I will, however, explain difficult grammar concepts in English, as those are important to understand.
I love teaching in a practical way - through natural conversation or reading of primary documents. My goal is not only to teach to a test, but teach to a skill - my students will leave with both the knowledge and confidence that they can apply their learning in practical situations.
I try to assess students individually, measure their strength and weaknesses and tailor lessons accordingly. I have tutored students in Grade levels K through 6th Grade. Not all children learn the same way, and it is important for the teacher and tutor, to find out how the child learns, and then use various approaches within the scope of their abilities to break down subjects.

A little about my German lessons. First of all students of all ages and levels are welcome. I would say that the frist lesson is just to get to know each other and see what your goals are and find a way how to achieve those. If you have materials you want or have to use, that is fine with me, otherwise or in addition to that I would create/find own material for the respective topics and levels.
