My specialty is with beginning through intermediate piano students. I enjoy watching joyful expressions on faces of new beginners: learning an instrument is FUN and ACHIEVABLE! Beginning students take half-hour lessons, and need to practice 15-20 minutes daily for maximum success. More advanced students can take 30, 45, or 60-minute lessons, and require 30+ minutes of daily practice. I prefer to use either the "Alfred" or "Faber" piano series of method books, but am open to using other books if a student already owns them.
I have taught private piano, clarinet, and voice lessons since 1987, when I was in college. My public school teaching experience in both Illinois and Florida totals 13 years, and includes the following subjects: K-8 General Music, Chorus, and Piano Keyboards. My specialty is beginning - intermediate piano and clarinet students.
Students pay for a "monthly tuition" ("month" = set of four lessons). A few "make-up" lesson dates are built into the yearly schedule in case of absence.
$20 for 30-minutes = $80 per month.
$30 for 45-minutes = $120 per month.
$40 for 60-minutes = $160 per month.
