I am a graduate from University of Washington with a BS in zoology and minor in Psychology with emphasis on animal behavior. I gained my teaching credentials in Biology and added on the endorsements in math, chemistry, physics and general science which includes earth science.
I have maintained my teaching certificate with courses from several universities in the United States and continue to expand my learning.
I consider myself to be a coach in the learning and advocate. Usually my lessons will include a bit of content; reading an article or powerpoint and notes. To ensure learning has taken place there will be a short project as an assessment.
I have been teaching 25 years with on the average of 150 students per year in public schools. My students have graduated from high school and on average have passed their standardized tests for graduation.
I know of one student who went on to vet school and contributed her success to my science instruction.
I do know that after having me for one course students request to be in my classes for upper division science courses.
