TO TEACH VOCABULARY: Read together list of related words (so the student can associate words used in a same context) while showing pictures representing each word (so the student can associate the word with the image). Example: list of animals found in the Amazon; besides the animal's names, this can be used to learn colors and body parts by using the animal's pictures.
TO TEACH GRAMMAR: Use of vocabulary lists to make full sentences; Use of excerpts from books and articles according to the student's level; Use of sample texts of different kinds according to the student's needs.
TO TEACH PRONUNCIATION: Repetition of sounds carefully produced by the teacher; Explanation about how sounds are produced by the body; Comparison of Portuguese and the languages that the student already knows. If you're a singer and need to learn a song in Portuguese, I'll sing along.
TO TEACH ORAL COMPREHENSION: Reading of words and sentences at natural rhythm; Playing videos of native speakers talking.
After the first class (free of charge), some days are spent to plan the classes and prepare the material for the student according to their needs.
