I utilize an active learning approach where students are involved in the learning process. I introduce the concepts to each student and allow them to work through the process and formulate their own solutions. I believe that when students are hands-on in the learning process, they understand what they are learning better.
I started teaching Math to Grade 12 and Pre-College students twenty-eight years ago in the Caribbean Island of Jamaica. I have taught over 60 students, many of whom went on to careers in Engineering, Education, and Accounting. I turned their fear of math into a love for numbers and lifelong careers. For the past two years, I have been tutoring Middle to High school students in the United States of America. I am familiar with the Common Core Curriculum and preparing students for the FSA Examinations. I utilize an active learning approach where students are involved in the learning process. My students are important to me and I am invested in helping them to reach their full potential.
Committed and student-focused Math Teacher with 38 years of hands-on experience in imparting mathematics knowledge to different grades. Track record of consistently enhancing student’s progress and achieving 100% concept clarity through effective reinforcement strategies and practical instruction.
