I have taught privately and through music schools for several years and have taught students of all ages and levels. I believe that everyone is capable of learning at least the basics of music to accomplish what they want from musical instruction. I teach through the application of technique to repertoire that I choose based on the student's level, but work to shape my lessons around what the student wants to accomplish, whether that be to just learn a few songs they like or to achieve a high level of technical prowess on the instrument.
I am a multi-instrumentalist who finished a music degree four years ago and has been teaching and gigging since then. I studied Classical and Jazz piano at an advanced level from a world-renowned faculty at my alma mater, and have been playing guitar for over a decade as well as playing bass and drums. I also sometimes teach the basics of home recording and live sound.
I actually charge slightly less for instruments other than piano, simply because I studied under pianists at my alma mater who came from some of the most prestigious conservatories in the world. Cancellation of lessons must be at minimum 24 hours in advance if not earlier, legitimate emergencies are the only exception.
