The most common question I get is "how do I sing well?"
Well. That's a tough one because honestly, it is different for every person.
I find that the the question stems from a series of different issues: one being social pressures (have you been told you cannot sing in the past?), another is skill (just like anything, you must learn to connect your brain to the muscles associated with your voice...it won't happen overnight!), and the last is guidance (have you ever worked with someone before?).
My goal is to work closely with every student to personalize their education so that they can develop the tools they need to solve problems on their own, so they can be free to sing without limitations!
I have 2 degrees from Northwestern University:
Music Business and marketing.
I've performed in Italy, Australia, Germany, Austria, Croatia, and across America in venues such as the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Carnegie Hall. I've been teaching for over 8 years in and around the Chicagoland area and am currently the lead vocal instructor at Altered Stage. I've written 2 opera librettos and many songs, as well as co-wrote a ballet and video game score!
You can tell by the way that Aubrey comports herself that she has taken years of practice and schooling and works it into every moment of teaching. Her gentle but consistently firm approach is great, and the best teacher I have ever had.
