PhD/M.Ed. offering one-on-one tutoring in ESL, College Admissions, Reading, and Writing in Portland, Oregon

I have been teaching at the university and high school level for more than a decade and I have both a Ph.D. in English and a Master's of Education with an active teaching license.

My teaching method is one-on-one and tailored to the unique needs of my students. We will start off with a free consultation of 20-30 minutes where we meet one another and discuss your goals and subject needs. From there, I will work with you to create a focused curriculum that addresses your weak areas and emphasizes your strengths. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and conducted over Skype.

I have worked with students from ages 11+, although the majority of my students are in high school and college. I have also worked with adults who are interested in studying English, ESL, Latin, French, Middle English, Old English, and Old Norse.

I have more than a decade of experience teaching at the high school and university level for ESL, English Composition, Academic Writing, Literature, Latin, and other subjects. I've helped hundreds of students and adults succeed in their courses and on academic tests, including the SAT, ACT, AP/IB, and GRE exams. I also advise on college and graduate school admissions and I will assist you in editing and polishing your Statement of Purpose and admissions package for competitive schools.

I have both a Ph.D. in English Literature and a Master's of Education with an active teaching license. My focus is on literature, writing, and languages, including English, ESL, Latin, French, Old English, Middle English, Old Norse, Introductory Linguistics, and the History of the English Language.
