I have individually tutored 2nd through 8th graders in Math as well as working as a regular teacher for 8th grade Social Studies. My teaching methodology is hands-on and relies on project-based learning as well as the socratic method. In terms of lesson-planning, I strive to make the methods of learning varied and individualized for my students.
I am a recent graduate of Political Science and Education from Bates College with strong writing and interpersonal skills. I have been tutoring math, social studies, and English as a second language for three years and have completed a Student teaching practicum.

During my summer in Senator Elizabeth Warren’s office, I attended briefings and hearings for legislative aids and wrote policy memos on topics such as human trafficking, the Rohingya crisis, and the Iran Nuclear deal. Additionally, I worked on legislative projects for the Senate Armed Services Committee, gave tours of the U.S. Capitol, and corresponded with constituents through mail, phone calls, and emails.

I spent three months teaching children ages of five to sixteen at a nonprofit school in the small town of Cabrera in the Dominican Republic. This experience grounded my interest in education as well as providing a platform for my research on the educational implications of statelessness on Dominicans of Haitian descent this April.
