I always ask my students to tell me where they are having difficulty. I then explain the subject matter and we proceed to joint problem solving. I have found that once a student can independently solve various problems dealing with several aspects of the subject, then he or she really understands the material.
I have a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Cooper Union and a Master of Science in Applied Mechanics from Stevens Institute of Technology. I have completed all but a dissertation toward a PhD in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania. I have worked for several defense industries and am now a consultant in Mechanical Engineering, where I specialize in shock and vibration of structures, as well as a tutor of math and mechanical engineering. I have tutored math and engineering students at Trinity Prep, Bishop Moore, UCF, Valencia, and Seminole Stateand. I am a Professional Engineer, licensed in Florida.
My rate for high-schoolers is $30/hour.
