I am a hands on type of coach/ instructor. I spend the first 15 minutes of class explaining three things: the goal for that day's lesson, the breakdown for what I am teaching that day, and how this applies to daily life after the class is over. After that, my students do their workout, or class and I am with them for the whole time, explaining what I like, and what they need to improve on. We usually end with a wrap up for what we accomplished, and what we need to improve on going forward.
I am a Brooks sponsored Professional Distance runner & previously an assistant coach and adjunct professor for 20 - 40 students in Physical Fitness for 2 years at American University in Washington, D.C. I taught students how to improve their lives physically, and how it translated into better overall mental health and mental well being as well. Students in my classes lost weight, cut their 1.5 mile running times by an average of over one minute from the beginning of the semester to the end, and set up a lifestyle of exercise and wellness for years to come.
I also was previously a tutor for the Huntington Learning Center, teaching students as young as 4th grade through High School reading, history and math.

The opportunity to work with people of all backgrounds in the field of health and wellness is something that intrigues and excites me. As a professional distance runner, I constantly am pushing my limits to perform at a greater level than I ever have, both through running, lifting, and doing core circuits. However, it is the mental side that has enabled me to break through with some of my goals, and continue to set new limits year in and year out. I have had great instructors and coaches over the years, and I want to help you reach your fitness goals as well.
After earning my BA in Political Science from Lehigh University in May of 2015 as an All American in Track & Field, I took a coaching job at American University in Washington, D.C. There I was also an adjunct professor in Health Promotion, specializing in physical fitness, teaching students the importance of exercising not just at a young age, but throughout life. If one becomes accustomed to working out just a couple times a week, their body becomes stronger, they have more energy throughout the day, are more disciplined, and can achieve more than they ever thought they were capable of. My students saw tremendous progress throughout the semester, lowering their 1 mile, 1.5 mile, and 2 mile times down, over 90% of them by over a minute for 1.5 miles. After two years at American University, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a professional distance runner after being fortunate enough to earn a sponsorship with the shoe company Brooks, as I run full time competitively with a training group in Michigan. However, my desire to teach and educate has not wained a bit, and I want to help you achieve your fitness goals, and become stronger, healtheir, and more confident than ever before. I have represented the United States internationally in Cross Country ruunning, made it U.S.A. trials for world teams on the track, placing 7th in the nation in the 10,000 meter run this past spring in Des Moines, Iowa, and have finished in the top 10 in numerous U.S. road championship races. My mile time is 4:03, and my 5K time is 13:46. This is coming from someone who could barely break 7 minutes in the mile in 9th grade. It was through hard work, determination, but most importantly, having good people around me that pushed me, were educated in the field of athletics and endurance training, as well as in building my confidence and self esteem up to enable me to reach all of my goals. I also tutor at Huntington Learning Center for K-12 and I am comfortable tutoring in 1 on 1 as well as group settings, I teach and motivate students on a weekly basis. Here I taught math, history, and english to students in elementary school all the way througgh High School. Let me help you achieve your goals and dreams.
There is only one thing stopping you from getting off the couch and into the best shape of your life. You, and I can help you once you decide mentally you are going to commit yourself to Physical Fitness. The workouts are hard, but one will become tougher with every workout, and the payoff in the end lasts a lifetime.
