My teaching method is pragmatic in nature, I am giving practical and general examples when I am teaching. "How to Use your Brain" in mathematics is my specialization. Also I am learning from others so that I can disseminate the same in my own words.
I did B.Sc., M.Sc., M.B.A. and Ph.D. and imparting lectures from last 21 years in management, short cut in mathematics, business statistics. I am more keen in professional development of students. Always in learning mode. Better to use your brain first, that is my methodology of teaching
Dr Varshney is working as Director – Kanpur Institute of Management Studies, Unnao. Earlier he holds the position of Director – Management with Lakshmi Narain College of Technology at their Bhopal Campus, Dean – Management & Humanities with Sobhasaria Group of Institutions, Sikar (a sister concern of RUPA & Company Limited). Before joining Sobhasaria Dr Varshney worked with Sherwood College of Professional Management as Vice Principal (running Undergraduate Programmes), Indira Nagar, Lucknow, as Dean (Director in AICTE mandatory disclosure) with Saroj Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow, as Founding Director with Kanpur Institute of Business Management, Unnao, an institute associated with Kanpur Institute of Technology (KIT) Kanpur.
He is approved Principal for Undergraduate courses for affiliated Degree colleges of University of Lucknow also.
He was associated with Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology & Management (BBDNITM), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, an A+ category awarded institute, as a Sr. Faculty in Department of Management for four years from 2005 to 2009. Besides holding administrative position Dr. Varshney is presently involved in teaching at post graduate level. He is also a visiting faculty at Nodal Center of ICFAI, Hyderabad. He has also been a guest lecturer in several universities and institutes. Before joining BBDNITM, he had worked with Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology (RKGIT) Ghaziabad, one of the best private colleges in Uttar Pradesh Technical University from 2004 to 2005. During 2003 to 2004 Dr. Varshney was in ‘Brass City of the World’ i.e. Moradabad, UP, India. He worked with Teethanker Mahaveer University formerly known as Teethanker Mahaveer Institute of Technology & Management. Dr. Varshney started his academic career from Lal Bahadur Shashtri Institute of Management & Development Studies (LBSIMDS), Lucknow, one of the best management colleges of Northern UP, India. He stayed here for six years from 1997 to 2003.
Before joining academics, Dr Varshney had 4 years of experience in several different industries. From 1996 to 1997, he was working as Senior Executive with Goel Computer, a leading computer supplier to multiple governmental agencies in UP. From 1995 to 1996 (after getting MBA), he got an opportunity to work with Elite Appliances Limited (Litware), the market leader in enamel ware kitchen industry. He was an Export Officer in their corporate office at NOIDA. Before completing his MBA, he worked with Textile Block Printers Association, Lucknow, a leading bed-sheet manufacturer of UP as a Craft Development Officer from 1991 to 1993.
Dr. Varshney received his PhD in 2009 from the University of Lucknow. His research focus was ‘Co-operative Movement in Central Uttar Pradesh’. He received his MBA with marketing focus from Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1995. He completed his graduation in science (Bachelor of Science with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) from University of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1991. During school and college days, he was very active in sports, craft, scout & guide, arts and study. He got number of scholarships from 6th standard to 12th standard.
Dr. Varshney is the author of three books and has received numerous certificates and nominations for teaching awards. He has been very active in several different committees including serving as placement coordinator of MBA students, member of anti-ragging committee of Institute, member of proctor board, and, has served as coordinator of Personality Development Programs (PDP). He has also served as external examiner for several MBA projects in India. He is also a member of All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi.
