Public health grad student with 5 years teaching experience offering biology and anatomy tutoring

Methodology

I approach each lesson with enthusiasm - I'm passionate about science and health education, and I believe that a positive relationship with students makes a significant difference in student learning. I differentiate my lessons as I get to know my students' strengths and weaknesses, as well as their goals. I base my curriculum on real world health issues and the college science lectures and laboratory classes I've taken.

Background

I have been teaching high school science (biology, anatomy & physiology, and physical science) for 5 years. I have also tutored high school students in algebra, geometry, and ACT prep. My students have significantly improved their ACT science scores, and many of my former students have reported that they felt confident and prepared for their college science classes after being in my class. While most of my education experience is with high school students, I have also tutored English Language Learner students grades 2-7 and helped them to improve their English vocabulary, as well as their spoken and written English skills.
