I hold a MSEd in Special Education with certification N-6. I have 30+ years of experience working with children of all ages, as well as adults, within school and clinic-based programs. From classroom teaching, individual instruction, psycho-educational assessments, to supervising others, my experiences have encompassed all types of learning difficulties. In general, my focus is on reading and language difficulties, learning strategies, effective work behavior, and study skills. Everyone is unique in their style of learning. My approach is to guide and instruct in a way that is most beneficial to "learning how to learn".
I have been involved in various capacities of teaching, instructing, mentoring for over 30 years.
Through private instruction I mostly work with children who struggle with reading and language based difficulties, as well as attention.
For those diagnosed with Dyslexia, I use an evidence based approach (The Barton System for reading & spelling) developed on the principles of Orton - Gillingham. I also have working knowledge of Orton- Gillingham.
In terms of attention, I provide a structured approach to develop a method of organization and increased focus.
