I am a recent LSU graduate with a bachelors in Anthropology and a minor in Linguistics. I've also just returned from Taiwan where i spent two months over the summer continuing my study of Mandarin Chinese. I am able to tutor in many different areas such as English, Science, beginner to intermediate Chinese, Reading, Test Prep, and Essay writing across all ages. I honestly love teaching a sharing knowledge, as well as having mutual discussions about the topics with my students. I plan to go to graduate school soon for and PhD in linguistics and become a professor.
Shannon graduated from LSU in May earning her Bachelors degree in Anthropology, with a minor in Linguistics. She was on the Dean's list her last 4 semesters. She sets high standards for herself and works hard to meet them. She is organized, committed, and keeps her word. She has experience working with children and enjoys sharing what she knows with others. Her personality and giving spirit make her a good tutor.
Because I've just graduated, I don't have too much experience with tutoring college or high school level students (besides the occasional session with my classmates). However, I've worked with middle school and elementary level students that I've also babysat. I've helped with homework check, essay assistance, and different class projects. I could proudly watch as the most recent two boys that I've helped improved their grades and began to have more fun learning.
I enjoy sharing knowledge with others and find teaching very rewarding. I am very attentive with students and keep them on track with their curriculum and the plan I’ve set for them as a tutor. I plan to interact with their teachers so as to have good open communication on their current teaching methods and how to proceed with the individual students leaning.
