My teaching method is problem based. I ask the student what they are having trouble on, what examinations they have coming up, and what topics they are learning. I then have them solve problems to gauge what they need help with. From there I determine if the issue is related to a poor understanding of the concept behind the problem, the implementation of the concept, or an issue regarding another topic. I try to understand how the student sees the problem so I can tailor my explanation to their understanding.
I have a strong background in mathematics ,including courses such as vector calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. My degree also included all the physics courses typical of a mechanical engineering program. Throughout my career I have tutored friends, mainly in calculus and algebra, to help them pass their coursework and move on with their degree.
