My teaching method would involve developing critical looking skills. What is most important when learning about art is not memorizing factual information, but knowing how to look at an artwork confidently and being able to describe and explain what you see.
I have recently graduated with my Bachelor of Arts from the Visual and Critical Studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My focus has been in art history, particularly French modern painting from the mid-nineteenth century to the early-twentieth century. I wrote my entire undergraduate thesis on a single painting by the artist Gustave Courbet.
