I like to taylor my curriculum to my student. It's important to establish a baseline which is accomplished through a few basic exercises. For the novice student I would begin with lecture, using examples of great art and fun exercises, teach the fundamentals; color theory, composition, elements and principles of design. Now with a solid foundation they are ready to experiment with shape, line and rendering light, and perspective, homework might be a contour drawing, rendering using a single light source or a mosaic of their foot. I might have them bring something from home to include in a still life arrangement . We would play with our imaginations, explore the intent, find our voice and speak our truth with a stroke of brush and pen. Eventually, I would guide them in creating a piece of their choosing to completion, wall ready.
I have a Bachelors of fine arts and interior design degree from the Art Institute of Portland. I love art and have studied it my entire life. I can honestly say that I am as talented as any artist I have ever seen. I work with many different media and materials. I love, love, love creating art and helping people realize the artist within themselves.
I have known Kellie for quite a long time after a good friend introduced us.
She is very talented in the arts from playing music to woodwork and welding. She is very trustworthy in every aspect I can think of. She takes care of her elderly mom and she is one of the best people to have as your friend that is for sure...
