I am a retired pharmacist who took 30 college credits in math and is very interested in tutoring math. Before I went to pharmacy school I substitute taught in my home town at the high school level for 5 years. I have a degree in biology and I do have graduate credits from UConn's dept of biochemistry and biophysics as well as my pharmacy degree. In the 1980's I taught 1 upper division class in chemistry. I have tutored on and off for the last 30 years and it is something I am very comfortable doing.
I have tutored on and off for the last 30 years and it is something I am very comfortable doing. After leaving graduate school in 1982, where I was a student in the graduate department of Biochemistry and Biophysics I substitute taught at the high school level for 5 years. I also taught 1 upper division class in chemistry at UConn in 1984.
If the travel in miles is greater than 10 miles I would have to negotiate with the student some cost for my travel time.
I received my B.S. degree in Biology in December of 1980(Cum. Laude). I spent the next year and one half in the Graduate Dept. of Biochemistry and Biophysics (GPA approx. 3.2). I returned to school at UConn to get my pharmacy degree in December of 1989 where I was inducted into the Rho Chi National Pharmacy Honor Society. I retired from being a pharmacist in 2012. In 2014(fall semester) I took 2 math classes at UConn and 1 math class at the Naugatuck Valley Community College. This gave me a total of 30 college credits in math. In the spring of 2015 I audited 2 math courses(7 credits). I have always enjoyed math and science.
