Retired university professor with 20+ years of teaching biology offers tutoring in biology, environmental science, anatomy and physiology.

Methodology

I feel comfortable teaching students from middle school to grad school. I assess the best learning style for the student and taylor the tutoring for that style. I believe in the student "learning by doing" instead of me doing it for them. My approach is to make sure the students first understands the concept through activity-based learning and once I feel the concept is understood I like the student to be able to apply the concept in a practical setting so I can make sure the student is understanding the concept and not just memorizing components of it!

Background

I'm a retired biology professor with over 20+ years of teaching and tutoring. I have taught over 5000 students over my career with a focus on the health and environmental professions. Classes taught include majors and non-majors biology, anatomy and physiology, ecology, and environmental science. I have received several teaching awards in my career and feel I connect well with the students.
