Learning to code is learning a particular way of thinking about a problem and breaking it down into manageable, testable steps, no matter what language you use. The best way to do this is to have a good problem to work on and dive in! If you don't already have one for work or a class, we can create one together to work on. I would structure my teaching as a series of conversations about particular exercises you work on where I help you frame questions and develop approaches.
I am a software engineer / data scientist / bioinformatician with BA and MS degrees and decades of experience. I have worked at the low end (embedded C/C++) and high end (scientific programming) of software engineering. I tutored fellow students in college and have enjoyed many mentoring relationships with coworkers, but am new to superprofs and professional tutoring.
