I never taught anyone in person, nor do I have a degree because I still am in highschool. However, my motive is to spark inspiration in the hearts of my students, and to let them know that playing piano is not a difficult task or hobby. My methodology of teaching is first getting to know the black keys, then knowing the white keys and eventually learning the notes and chords. After those steps are mastered, I will get right into playing people's favorite songs in the original chord and outside the original chord. First I will teach people to learn visually so they can better familiarize themselves with the piano keys, then eventually I will move on to the challenge which is learning new songs WITHOUT VISUAL TUTORIALS.
But one more thing and this is the most important thing that I teach, and that is FAITH. If you lack faith and belief in yourself, then the goal you want to accomplish will never be accomplished.
I am a senior in highschool, and I have done tutoring on my instagram page about how to play the popular generation's music, but never in person. So far I have given lessons to about 5 to 10 people on social media. I currently have 1,922 followers on instagram, and I only offered my piano methods to 5 to 10 of those people because I was not ready to be teaching large numbers of people my method. The reason being is because I did not learn like an average self taught pianist. I did not learn from a professional, I barely watched visuals, what I did was listen and experiment with the keys. And now, just because I'm not professionally trained does not mean I can't teach others. Because at this point, I don't watch anything while I'm learning a new song. I just listen. And I also know how to create my own music. I think learning by ear is just as important as reading sheets. (Disclaimer: I do not read sheets. I only play music by ear)
