My teaching philosophy is simple:
Pay attention to the student...Attend to what they want to learn...Prepare lessons that definitely challenge them, but are tailored the THEIR needs...Make it clear that you have an interest in their happiness and enjoyment, not just your employment.
Music has been my passion--and my profession-- for 40 years, and the balance of performing and teaching not only brings me great joy, but actually makes me better at both endeavors! Let's explore what YOU want to learn, shall we?
I would NEVER charge based on a student's level--EVERY student deserves the best teaching effort, regardless of the student's particular level.
Travel rates would be a matter to be discussed with each student...
Though I do have a Masters Degree, I'll confess that it is my 40 years of actual performing and hands-on teaching that really make the difference in what I can offer a student...
Rob is a top-notch teacher. He is also kind, patient and super-talented. He knows a variety of musical styles and can teach both nylon and steel string guitar. His students range in age from 6 to 60+. I have been studying with him since 2012 and I continue to progress each week. I recommend him wholeheartedly!
Rob is the best musician I know, both technically and artistically. He knows everything about music and can play anything. He can also improvise and transpose on the spot. Rob is also cheerful, kind and very patient with kids and adults alike. And you will never find a more reliable person who loves what he does.
I would not hesitate to recommend Rob as a guitar and ukulele instructor for anyone of any age.
