My teaching methods are dependent upon the students with whom I am working and their specific needs. Naturally, we will follow the topics in the applicable textbook or instructional manual. But, beyond that, I like to introduce topics and mathematical concepts in creative and/or multiple ways. Then, in applying those concepts to math problems, I teach and encourage the use of consistent and highly structured process that reinforces understanding of the relevant concepts and builds confidence that the problem at hand has been solved successfully.
