I am an enthusiastic and innovative middle school and post-secondary English teacher and tutor with experience teaching English as a second language. Students tell me that my lessons are clear and sensible (often fun), especially helpful for success at school, for day-to-day life, and in the workforce. I do not teach from stale lessons but design fresh ones that meet the interests and needs of my students. It is the student, not I, who directs my curriculum.
I have been teaching English for over thirty years at the secondary and post-secondary level, and as a tutor. At all levels, students have thanked me for making my lessons clear and practical and for helping them to perform well not only in other English classes but also in other subjects, such as history and science where reports are expected. One student who was taking English as a second language from me selected me for Who's Who in Education.
A post graduate sent me a thank you letter for providing him a good foundation for writing college research papers. One student said, "When I first entered your class, I knew I was in a real English class."
I have a Master's degree in Education with a major in English from Buffalo State College and graduated from Boston University with a major in philosophy and minor in English.
I was selected for Who's Who in Education and won an award as the advisor to our high school literary magazine.
I have taught middle school, high school, and college English.
Also I have written and taught graduate courses, which have covered such ares as the MCAS exams, thesis papers, and public speaking.
