I teach English/ ESL. I am a certified teacher with 22 years of teaching experience. I like teaching reading & writing which includes academic vocabulary, grammar, sentence building & paragraphs.

Methodology

I teach to the state and CCSS standards. I like to inspire my students through modeling, and give them the strategies in addition to note taking. All students learn at their own pace. I think differentiating lessons and then scaffolding them is important to fit the needs of each learner. Reading and writing go together, I like to give my students regular practice to build their academic vocabulary through content rich non fiction and informational text, and use text structures, for example compare/contrast, cause/effect,
problem/solution, description, and sequence, for reading comprehension. Some projects I do with the students are research based through technology.
My students use google docs to submit their writing samples for me to give them some feedback.
I use a lot of graphic organizer for reading and pre-writing activities. My students also use rubrics to evaluate their own reading and writing.

Background

I am a teacher. I have 22 years of teaching experience. I have BA degree in Elementary Education, certification in ESL, and Masters in School Counseling and Guidance. All my Degrees are from USA. I love to teach and inspire my students.
